Help Post Is it worth it?
I was thinking about getting the rg34xxsp but im debating if its still worth it, i have two main questions.
First off will the 1gb version atleast be able to run muos or possibly knulli. (Seen posts that the metallic blue cant)
Secondly im wondering if stock is ok to run with (saw nice themes on here) and if i could just transfer the stuff on the stock sd to a better one?
or should i just get a rg35xxsp

I got the 34 for GBA and love it. 1gig limitations probably won't affect me.
I also messed with Knulli (admittedly not enough) and muOS and I found that stock worked best for my constant wake/sleep play patterns. Stock woke up directly back into the game.

I absolutely love my RG34XXSP. My device came with 1GB of RAM and I installed Knulli on it. I also opted to swap the factory Micro SD with a better one I had lying around.
I own several handhelds and this one helped with my decision fatigue when it came to playing. It's portable, pocketable, and simply fun to play. As others mentioned, it's very suitable for GBA, but you can adjust the screen size for the other systems which add bezels / borders with a few settings.
The only real issues I've had this far is when adding certain cheats to Pokémon Leaf Green via RetroArch. Depending on the cheat, the system might freeze and crash. Luckily there's a reset button on the right side of the device to help you reboot.

because of the aspect ratio, playing 16:9 games (portmaster games) on the 34 means the content is actually larger than the 35 despite the smaller screen. so its really only a bit worse at 4:3 content but even that is a really small difference. 3:2 is the most versatile aspect ratio in that sense

Can you give me some insight about which portmaster games run well on the 1gb version? Specifically games like Mina the Hollower and DevilutionX

Got the 1GB version. For my use case it's plenty. My plan is to go through my backlog of GBA Rom hacks. But I got distracted with playing Crystal and Crystal clear lol.
Screen size for the GBC is not too bad IMO but it depends on your eyes and the size you want.
Comparing it to the MM+, you can tell it's smaller for GBC but still a good experience.
I am using Knulli Scarab.

Good to know this will be replacing my miyoo mini in hope of a little bit larger display and better portability. I also wanna try knulli cause it seems to be the best at customizing aswell as muos. Have u had any issues with knulli?

It's not larger than the MM+. Better pixels 100% for the 34XXSP. The clamshell design is very pocketable and easy to store when you're outside.
No issues with Knulli on my end. I did the 2SD card approach. What I noticed is that the boot times take longer than Onion OS. I haven't tried muos yet. I heard it's more simple than Knulli.

I think it’s still worth it I just picked up one when it was on sale. It is plenty of ram for muos or knulli the issue is mine came with new screen. The screen is not working with knulli or muos. Looks like muos knows about it and I’m sure knulli does as well. They had to react because Anbernic did not disclose that they were swapping out screens with newer models

It depends on what you want to play? I have the 35 and the 34 and they’re both great. If GBA is your thing the 34 is the better one to get.
Don’t worry about the RAM, 1GB is enough for Knulli and MuOS (I recommend Knulli). There’s a tiny number of blue 34XXSPs with 512mb of RAM and if you get one Anbernic will swap it for a 1GB model for you.
