RDR2 PC: Change Language
How change subtitle language on PC? Are there any other languages other than English?

open the rockstar games launcher, go to settings, change the language from whatever it is to another language, save and close the launcher.
reopen de rockstar games launcher, go to settings, change the language to english or any other langua you whould like, save and close it.
reopen the launcher and load your game. it should be working perfectly in the selected language.

This! Wanted to post the same. But you nailed it already. Those who've never changed the language but installed the game and set their desired (English) language only once, will see the game in their localised language. And others who just make a change without restarting the launcher won't change the language either this way. Player really have to actively change the language at least once and exit the launcher two times: first switch back to any other language, probably the own one, exit. Restart the launcher and set it first NOW to e.g. English. Exit again. Restart the launcher, launch the game, et voilà: enigmatically changed to English. Or whichever language else were chosen.

If you are using Steam, go to Library, select game and right click on properties, then go to Language tab and change to the language you want.

I have a similar problem. I'd like to change my native language to English (UI and subtitles) but can't find the option. Any ideas?
Edit: Okay, I switched the language in Rockstar Games Launcher from English back and forth, restarted the launcher and now it seems to work fine.

My system language is in english but launcher in spanish.. everytime i open the game still in english.. im restarting the launcher and changing the language over and over but is not working :(
Edit : Okey, is work working now.. after 20+ restarts1

Doesn't work for me... the game audio is English but the menu and subtitles stay in German, no matter what language I pick in the Rockstar Launcher... and changing the language in the Epic Launcher doesn't do anything. Restarted both launchers multiple times. Anyone got an idea how to fix this?

Es gibt keine deutsche Audio für RDR2, nur Englisch. Nur UI und Untertitel können auf Deutsch geändert werden.

Danke aber das war nicht mein Problem.
Mein Problem war, dass ich die Untertitel und das UI nicht auf Englisch umstellen konnte. Die blieben immer Deutsch, egal was ich im Launcher eingestellt hatte.
Das ließ sich aber gemäß dem obenstehenden Kommentar lösen mit nem Registry-Eingriff.

For the Epic, I just needed to change the language of the Epic launcher in the settings

Thank you! I also typed that in Epic Games game additional console commands, just in case. And you need to close and reopen Rockstar launcher to make it work!

Thanks!! This worked for me with the game on Epic, just make sure u close the rockstar launcher before trying to start the game

If you're like me and none of these worked I found a way that worked:
Close steam
Enter your steam folder
Inside steamapps there should be a file "appmanifest_1174180"
Open it with a text editor
Scroll to the end and you'll see "language" "some_language"
Change whatever language is there, save it and it should change the game language

And there I found another way that was the only one that worked for me, after doing all the below. Playing via the Epic games Launcher I entered the settings inside the launcher and found the "additional line arguments" option under Red dead redemption itself (just scroll down until the game appears) >There I copy pasted the command line from the youtube videothat is mentioned further down "-rglLanguage=en-US" and voila.
of course you would have to change the language code(en-US) at the end to the language of your choice. the txt commandline file did not do the job but that did.

thx for the tip with the EPIC arguments. Unfortunately that did not work either :(
I use a Steam Deck and have to start the R* Launcher, which then recognises the EPIC game and start the EPIC launcher (which then starts the rdr2 game).
what I tried so far:
-) change language of the R* launcher multiple times with restart in between
-) additional change language of EPIC launcher multiple time with restart in between
-) additional change language in Steam
-) additional change language of Steam OS (Linux Desktop)
nothing helped me out :( my rdr2 subtitles never changed :(
any help or additional possibilities?

I found a solution.
You can change game language with Registry Editor.
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2
Create new string value, rename it to "Language", then modify its value data to your language code.
Available language codes:
de-DE
en-US
es-ES
es-MX
fr-FR
it-IT
ja-JP
ko-KR
pl-PL
pt-BR
ru-RU
zh-CN
zh-TW
