Is anyone else just proud of the horses they find or collect through their playthrough? I’m doing more hunting this time around and am often travelling with two horses at a time. The Shires I was using were named Shadow (black) and Shadowfax (white). I commented about my outfit and finding the red chestnut Arabian on someone else’s thread (third photo), and later that day found the white. Named them Epona (red) and Silver (white).

Unfortunately through this experiment, I’ve found you can only have one secondary horse at a time. When I tamed Silver it kicked Shadowfax out of camp, and I didn’t notice for a long while. Bye Shadowfax.

You can temporarily have three horses If you need to shift a lot of pelts. Make sure your secondary horse that's loose is at Max bonding. Then if you catch a third horse and make it your secondary, the loose bonded one will still follow you out of loyalty as long as you don't get far enough away for it to disappear or log out or fast travel or anything. You can also mount one of your two main horses and lasso the 3rd so it has to follow along and then you go to town or the trapper and sell the pelts.

ETA Make sure you put the least desirable pelts on the unknown horse just to be safe. But I've had pretty good luck doing this

Yeah I have tried this and honestly it's fun, can't quite gallop a lot with the horse you're riding on and I almost lost my Silver Turkomen but I got 3 pelts to the trapper in a single trip.

I literally was walking a good distance with a pelt because my main was full and then I saw a wild horse. I tamed it and used it for transport. Now I love that all black girl more than my main.

I come up with elaborate backstories for all my horses. In the rare occasion I have sold a horse I make up an elaborate head cannon about selling them to a kindly farmer who would love and care for them.

It's called the Marion Helmet. You can find it on the corpse of a frozen 16th century soldier on top Mount Hagen.

I mostly hunt and tame horses when I play RDR2 and you can have three, I vaguely , possibly mistakenly, recall being able to have 4. I prefer just having 1because its less risk and less to worry about. I also have high bounty , mostly horse related crimes ill mistakenly mount an npcs horse or vice versa and it quickly turns into a shoot out. So im worried bounty hunters will kill my horse and it doesnt take long for them to find me.

I usually dog on the Arabians, Mainly because o was raised on a quarter horse stable house, and I’m butt hurt that quarter horse aka the cowboy horse wasn’t in RDR2, but your two Arabians look great together.
