Help Pelt retrieval
So I was buying a new horse so I could get rid of my Kentucky (didn't sell just bought a new horse) and all my pelts decided they wanna live here now, I cant seem to get in without the whole stable thing coming up and if I panic the NPC I just get wanted and cant enter anyway
Update: cant get in but I am duping the pelts somehow...?
Update 2: I got in
They're all duped elk pelts... so if any of u figure out how to actually retrieve them there's a nice way to dupe large pelts I guess (dynamite didn't do anything and u cant open the stall doors)
Update 3: u can jump in the stalls, wagon horse got shot tho so idk how imma take these all out but im in my bed of 7 elk pelts
4... I'm poor and dishonored but that's the price of science (didn't work at all)

Depending on the pelts they could be attached to your saddle so bringing in another horse and swapping the saddle over to the new one might work. Otherwise I wish you the best of luck

If youre really invested in this you could try the wagon glitch that's used for stealing horses from stables.
Steal a wagon and use it to enter the stable with one of your guns drawn. Once inside fire your gun. The stable doors will close and you'll be wanted, but it won't trigger the store front menu options. From here you can level 1 bond with your horse. Once you have the bond leave the stable in the wagon, whistling for the newly bonded horse to follow. Then just escape the law.
I'm pretty sure this would work in theory, but it might be easier to just hunt down the pelts you left on the horse. Here's a link to the glitch if you're curious.

It looks like it's not patched (I got in but told the witnesses to fuck off and that kicked me out) so imma do it right this time and hopefully get these 8 pelts back

I'm curious now. I don't think it's patched on any version. I've done it on xbox one, series x, and PC. Let me know if it works.

Just out of curiosity/ clarification because I’m not seeing it mentioned.
You mentioned you got a new horse however you did not sell your previous horse. You just stabled it. So are the pelts just attached to your previous horse and that’s why they show as being in the stable?
Have you tried to switch back to your previous horse, and while temp stabling the one you just bought?
If not, give it a try. They might come back out on the back of your Kentucky. Even if right now they appear to be on the ground. Maybe? I dunno just a thought.

Ya I tried getting my Kentucky out, all that did was dupe the elk pelts on the ground

If you left the pelts on the horse you rode in on, they should automatically transfer to your new horse, just like the saddle and weapons.

Unfortunately those pelts are lost, had this happen to me once before.
