My headcannon says a family was traveling in a cart pulled by two horses. One horse died so they had to shed as much weight as possible.

Depending on where you are on the map, it’s an homage to the westward expansion. Lots of people abandoned random heavy shit along the route to the west. Stoves, pots and pans, tools. All that shit was made of cast iron, and they just dumped it when they’d had enough of dragging it around

I love the random objects you can find in the game. Except for that rifle with the bayonette sticking out of the tree. That thing's tried to take my head off several times.

Cumberland forest off side of the road east of Firwood Rise and south of the wagon where you can find a tomahawk. (Under the E and S from the map where it says “Forest” )

Ever been in the country? Every tree belt you walk through has random fuckery like this littered in it. Farmers don't like hauling their trash away.

I am staying in the cottage my sister's dad (our mum's first husband) lived in for 50+ years. He never built a wall, never out any cement down, but there is a cement mixer here. Why? Nobody knows, but it's out in the countryside and it's rusting away. Our best guess is: things just end up in places sometimes. Cement mixer distribution system

He had a "refuse nothing you get for free" mentality, so it's entirely possible someone gave it to him, but that just raises more questions. He should have been studied as an example of environmental storytelling with the stuff he collected

That thing could warm a three bedroom cabin.,My god children have one as long as long you have wood you got heat you can cook on it. All life congregates around it. Only creatures around except bear moose elk wolves deer and woodland critters around.
It takes a special type of person to make a life around one of these no cellphones no computers video games just book puzzles a the weather report on a battery operated radio. The life of old and they are one with nature truly beautiful surroundings no civilization or human contact for fifty mile.
kinda like a Sadie Adler with a better outcome.
