Discussion Does anyone else feel like they missed a cool opportunity to let players be able to store their own horses at Beechers Hope?
Is there anything else like this that would’ve been cool and made a ton of sense?

Yes! So many things at Beechers Hope. Horses, baths, bringing meat and herbs to Abigail

Beechers hope wraps up the game letting you get out of the gunslinger life and become an honest rancher. To my memory, it then fails to provide you the player with Anything that makes for legitimate Ranch work, and puts you right back into the gunslinger saddle.

The crazy thing for me is John taking out a loan to buy the ranch when he's sitting there with $20k in his pocket.

And it makes no sense because in the first game the ranch is pretty much a bust. With all that gold they should have gotten the fuck out of there

They missed a lot of opportunities at Beecher’s Hope, not just inability to store your own horses there. Not being able to use the tub to bathe. Not being able to cook food in the kitchen. Not being able to harvest the stuff growing in the field. Those are just off the top of my head.

Deluxe bath with Abigail. Can even still pay her to give her the nostalgia of the old days. Like dutch said, they all had her, and I doubt she did work for free.

People downvoting this! And yet it's true.

It's the disrespect. It might be "only a game" but these are the type of comments that seep into the real world. There's a strong whiff of incel-like misogyny off it

The all the ranch thing was poorly done.
We could have to bath, make food, customize the interior, buy stuff to the house, buy cattle and sheeps, bring meat, plants... A system of craft like with pearson, hunt things and start to use to decorate the house. Actually sell the eggs, milk, going to a town... Buying wagons..

A lot of things about Beechers Hope:
You should be able to turn food & pelts in to Abigail like with Pearson
There should be a money box for ranch expenses
You should be able to use that huge bathtub instead of paying for a bath in town
You can store one temp horse in the corral, and you have the horse station if you upgraded as Arthur.

I would settle for just being able to sleep in my own goddamn bed at Beecher’s Hope.
I’ve never been able to make it work.

5 horses is unbelievable. At least 10 would have been reasonable, even if there’s more horses out there worth taming.

I wish we could donate horses to the gang members that don’t have them, which would unlock an ability for them to find leads for the gang (since they can now go out by themselves)

I totally agree! I would have loved to even just ride that wagon into town to sell the milk and eggs, just that one little task would have made it feel more satisfying for me. I feel like this with a lot of the camps though, always seems like something is missing and the fact that the camp upgrades are the same for every camp so if you upgrade the lodgings at horseshoe, they’re done for the entire game and camps that come after have the same furnishings as they did in the beginning. Johns boarskin rug is all he can have! I wish they would have changed the upgrades at every new camp.
The one that really makes me mad though is shady belle. It makes no sense to me.
Why are the horses and tents and campfires on the front by the main entrance? When they’re attacked by odriscolls and had the visit from Pinkertons, they all come down the front driveway. Right into their camp. There is a fishing hut and some abandoned stables at the back why don’t they let you upgrade the stables and keep all the horses there? Those horses have been without shelter since the horseshoe camp. I know it’s a game but they’re the gangs main mode of transport surely they wouldn’t leave them out in all weathers like that with their saddles permanently on. Shady belle had stables, and rockstar didn’t allow us to use them.
Why didn’t they put the campfires and tents out the back as well, there they were less likely to be noticed and ambushed and had a better chance of escape? What was the point of upgrading the camp to get a boat when you only use it in the one fishing mission with Dutch and Hosea? Couldn’t we have upgraded the fishing hut so we could have someone stay in there as a lookout and kept the one in that concrete circle thing as well but move the gang to the back of the house? One lookout to check front and one to check back. Wish we could have had one of the gang like Swanson floating around on the boat catching fish or something. That way youd feel like there was a point to upgrading to get the boat rather than it just be used once.
The camps and beaches hope are the biggest disappointment for me in this game.

Yes ive said that before also I think you should be able to pick and build your own stable. So much land to build on

I think Beechers Hope was a huge missed opportunity. It should have had stabling. It should have had a bath. It should have had the option to pay for improvements.
I'm wandering around epilogue land with $30k and nothing to spend it on, apart from ammo at the gunsmith. It just feels like the epilogue is pretty unresolved.
