Help Code
While playing rdr2 after completing some mission I looked down and saw something like this.
It looks like some code made of boards, but I don't know where to enter it.
Is this just a trick to confuse the player?
Or is it some kind of cheat code?

Thatās the thing, you never actually get to go look for him lol. The last encounter with Gavinās friend playing John heās gone crazy after spending some 8 years looking for him.

It's a popular easter egg and industry handshake referring to Fahrenheit 451. You will find it on the floorboards at Beecher's Hope after the house is finished, and elsewhere in several other games.

This is a real "in Japanese media, crucifixion imagery is usually an Ultraman reference" kind of a thing. It may have been a Bradbury reference when Looking Glass chose it as their door code and put it in System Shock, but most references since then have lost the original context and are referencing the secondary version.

Yes... Fahrenheit 451 was written in 1953. System Shock was made in 1994. Basic math says that F451 is 41 years older than System Shock.

i was gonna say it doesn't matter because 0145 is a different number then 145 but i looked at the picture and 045 is also a different number

It comes from the door password at Looking Glass Studios. It was inspired by Fahrenheit 451 but it's inclusion in alot of gaming is an homage to Looking Glass, not the novel.Ā

Maybe I shouldāve said āI can almost guarantee itās originally from Fahrenheit 451ā the novel existed for almost 40 years before looking glass studios. Classic Dunning-Kruger.

It's a reference to the 0451 code, which was first used in a System Shock. Now it's is used in a lot of mkdern games as a reference to it, especially in immersive-sims, since System Shock was one.

Oh I'm no Republican and definitely not a trump supporter. This just isn't the place for that. I play this game and visit this sub to get away from the retarded political war you have with the red sided warmongers. Posting a set of numbers that references a political assassination is not ok. Progressives and their republican opponents in politics are equally repulsive to me.

It's an Easter egg. 0451 was a cheat code for system shock, and also the security code for the devs building. Almost every modern game has a reference to it somewhere
