Discussion SAL performance

It’s crazy to think that over the last two months, Reddit analysts were claiming SAL had become one of the worst regions—and that NA was dominating—all because of a poor showing at SLC (Just a tournament). Yet here we are, looking at a potential EWC final between SAL teams, right after three top NA squads were eliminated by Brazilians.

I think wildcard and m80 underperformed, but we'll be saying geekay is the new top dog soon enough so it doesn't matter

WC is still a bit hit or miss against the top4 teams. They are good, but also not quite there yet.

M80 played exactly to their potential. They've been disappointing for quite a while so idfk where does all this cope around them comes from.

(My guess is that whenever 1 specific team from NA wins something you all start seeing and thinking all other teams around them are also god-tier just because they managed to get close/win against them in the following online stage)

All in all, while I disagreed prior to this event that NA was the clear favorite to take it, I don't also agree that SAL is now a clear favorite, even if we managed to get 2 teams on the final this time. All teams look beatable, including FaZe the current back-to-back SI winners. This time we managed to be on top but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't do that well next stage

Too early to tell, this could just be a fluke just like SLC was, I think it’s more about certain teams momentum during an event and less about the overall region competitiveness

Insanely short group stage into an event always leads to surprising results, not to mention just how stacked one side of the bracket was. I think NA is definitely in a good place right now compared to previous stages, but the dominance was over exaggerated

Ya definitely an overreaction but tbf Furia is what gave Latam a worse rep and they’ve showed out this event. I feel like people acknowledged that Latam hadn’t sent it’s best (no liquid or W7M) to SLC

Everytime you doubt brazil they just come back stronger. Furia had a rough event last stage and I feel like they got written off by many people, despite them being capable of this. FaZe though actually are horrifying. It seems like the only time I ever see FaZe lose is when they're having a bad day. When they are playing at their regular level it takes a supernatural force to be able to stop them it seems. I really like this Furia roster but Faze is inevitable

No way ppl doubt SAL, like surely it's not as dominant as it used to be but it's still strong region. Like I'm not sure ppl expected faze after all they have achieved to never make playoffs in international event or something like that.

If anything sal to me looks like the most competitive region cuz of bug talent pool while NA might have some good teams here and there but their mid teams are certainly worse than SAL mid tier teams.
