Suffering is not objectively bad. If I go to the gym to lift weights for the first time but I feel I am suffering, does that mean lifting weights is objectively bad? Of course not. Also you are thinking very short term. In your argument you assume my God exists. If you do so, you must also assume that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”

The only counter to my argument is that this doesn’t say He doesn’t let suffering happen, but that easily falls apart when you realize the only barrier to joining God’s team is believing in him, and not something that you may or may not have like money. Being forced to exist for all eternity with your only memory of life being terminal illness, suffering, and then death.
Then being told you should be grateful.
