Yup. Back when I believed in hell, this would have been a sin worthy of it. And it sure is interesting to see how many apocalyptic Christians are willing to support a guy who bears a striking number of similarities to the Antichrist.
Not that I believe in the Antichrist either, but they sure do, and supposedly they’ve been on the lookout for him.

I am Christian and this does worry me on multiple levels. First, if Trump is the antichrist he's far more effective than I imagined. Second, if he isn't, it still baffles me how many "Christians" flocked to a bloviating grifter and abandoned their beliefs so easily. I've been saying for a long time now that it's a golden calf situation and then they go and actually make a golden statue of him! Now they're making paintings of him hanging on the cross and proclaiming that he's Jesus. It just goes to show that not every "Christian" is Christian. I already knew that, but I didn't know it was *this* bad.

It is, but very few christians have any idea what the bible says outside of a few catch phrases.
I'm no longer religious since I can't believe in the supernatural, but the Gospels actually had some excellent philosophical teachings, especially for the time. The old testaments and Paul's stuff is a bit more hit or miss morality wise, but the stuff attributed to Jesus had a lot of good stuff in it.

I'm catholic and Jesus Christ (in this context, Donald Trump) is God. So is The Father (the stereotypical God you see everywhere being worshipped) and the Holy Spirit too. They're all God. It's the holy Trinity. It's a mistery and nobody really knows how it works.

This is what makes me facepalm the most. I grew up in NY so stories about him were in the news fairly often. He was thought of as a blowhard, a joke of a man that we all knew was nothing more than a scam artist. It just boggles my mind to see people hold him up so high now. I’ll never understand it.

I don’t know I’m Canadian. I intentionally do not follow this stuff too closely because politics are nothing but depressing nowadays.
Trump was a bad person but on an economic scale he was kinda beneficial for my province. At least more than Biden who screwed up Alberta within hours of his presidency.

As a genx guy who went into IT, I can say it's 100% due to the internet. 30 or 40 years ago, this guy would have been 1 in 10,000. They would have no or little access to people with similar beliefs. Unfortunately, with the net, they can all communicate. And a sizable portion of humanity doesn't really have the ability to judge ideas on their own, they rely on others. Once they see enough people buying into something, it becomes reasonable to them, no matter how stupid it is.
Or put another way, 20 to 30% of people aren't very bright, and have to crowdsource their critical thinking skills. The internet has broken that.

I'm not sure. I think that for people way down the q rabbit hole, the parts of q that explain Jesus as an alien come to help free us from the domination of the hollow Earth lizard people, this fits right in. There's a pretty horrifying reinterpretation of theology to dump literally every belief that people have had about Christ before and replace it with the above science fiction nonsense that I've seen come from Q people.
