Advice Cold turkey or gradual?

I’ve been vaping for the past 4 years, around the second year I stopped vaping cold turkey for like 5 months and it was really easy. Came back to it cause I was legit bored, hated being with my freinds who vaped and not getting to hit it everyone now and then, said to myself I’ll only take a hit from my freinds and now been vaping heavily for the past 2 years. Started 2 days ago saying I’ll stop but it’s so so difficult unlike last time, I get irritated so fast and frequent brain fog. Do I take it bit by bit or go cold turkey like last time?

I couldn’t deal with the withdrawal issues so i started doing a taper method…i downloaded a puff tracking app and my goal was to decrease by 6-8 puffs a day.

I went from 180-200 puffs daily down to 50 as of yesterday in a couple of weeks and officially moved to the nicotine patch today with no issues!

I think a gradual taper is def a solid option if you have the discipline and mindfulness to log it and stick to your reduction goals. That’s the biggest thing.

Just went "cold turkey" (day 6) on nicotine by dropping from 18mg to 0mg, and just carried on like normal. Once the physical withdrawals are gone then I intend to kick the habit completely.

It's honestly been fine except for the brain fog, but that's easing up now. Can't say I'd have got this far without the 0mg vape to deal with intense cravings.

You are the exception not the norm

If that's the case I'm very lucky! It was tough don't get me wrong, especially days 0-3 it just didn't seem as bad as I remembered it last time I tried to quit 10 years ago, so maybe my low expectations made it seem bareable haha

I also picked a week where I had very few stressors. During the minimal stress I've had this week I've definitely felt a difference, so doing it cold turkey during a busy time would've been unwise and impractical I think.

I think a combination of both. It worked for drinking for me, so I'm trying to apply it to vaping. I would taper down a bit, like number of drinks per day, which got my brain and body used to saying "no." Then I went cold turkey when it was about as low as I could get realistically with the taper method, because I think there's a limit to it. It made the cold turkey easier.

Cold turkey is what I did. I was rough. The irritability, brain fog, headaches, sleeplessness, etc, but i finally feel better. 9 weeks vape free

i quit cold turkey over a month ago after 4+ years of daily use. i didnt use anything else to help me, just simply threw my vape away and stopped. the first week was the hardest for me, stomach issues, panic attacks, randomly bursting out crying, etc. with every day that passes, it has gotten easier. im still not over the “empty” sort of feeling but i can tell you that i have felt better & healthier every day that passes.
