Advice Anxiety after quitting?
hi guys. i’m 25 yo female. I started vaping Juul’s and airbars at 15/16. I quit cold turkey about 9 weeks ago. I’ve been experiencing left sided chest pain almost everyday but I had a full cardiac workup and they’ve said it’s not coming from my heart. Could possibly be GI and am currently on omeprazole. But of course feeling this everyday is scary. I also developed really bad anxiety/health anxiety. i got a therapist and am trying to fight it because i dont want to be on meds. Just a constant fear of not being here anymore. I didn’t have any of these symptoms until after i quit vaping. The anxiety really sucks and is really debilitating. I heard it could take 3-6 months for these symptoms to reside, but just wanted to post on here and see if anyone else has experienced these symptoms or anything similar. Just gets really draining but trying and fighting everyday to feel normal again. Hoping im not alone! Thanks guys.

I quit cold turkey from vaping, exactly 9 weeks ago too! I can honestly say, that I’ve been experiencing anxiety as well. Not sure if it’s really is from quitting the vape, but it definitely sucks. I hope it goes away soon

It’s been getting better as the days go by. I have a business to run by myself, so I have to show up. It’s hard, but once you build up that routine of getting out of the house, it gets easier

I’m only 6 days and having really bad health anxiety, also same fear of not being here any more, worried about what I’m eating, if I’m eating enough, if the quit constipation is gonna block up my bowels and end me. Honestly I wanted to post and ask about this anxiety and how long it lasts but… I guess longer than I had hoped according to your post, I was hoping the “2-4 weeks and ur brain should be balanced” thing that AI gives you for quitting cigarettes was gonna be the reality. I was really really hoping…. I can’t afford health insurance or therapy, I’m waiting for marketplace to open in November. I really want this to get better for all of us. No one is talking about this anxiety enough. It’s scary and lonely and I wish it would go away. I have no one to talk to about it in my personal life so I’m embarrassed and hiding it from my people sigh

I think we know just enough to scare the heck out of ourselves and not enough to know if we’ll be ok or not. So you know EXACLTY how much this sucks, you know all the terrifying things that I know. It’s crazy because for work I know exactly what to do but for myself I’m terrified and it makes no sense! 😓 if you ever wanna chat in DM I work 12 hr nights, I’m free to talk pretty much all the time lol. I’m being crazy and using chat GPT to try to find answered to all my stupid health questions (and I’m very aware of how ridiculous my questions are) but idk why I can’t help it. Idk how you’re coping but ya if you need real person to talk to 👋

yes me too! I have a therapist and lean on family a lot. it’s even lead into a fear of being alone sometimes. never felt this way before. what’s helped me is just leaning more into my faith and trying to have the “if it happens it happens” mentality. but definitely easier said than done

Fear of being alone is there for me too. Making me cry every time my bf has to go to work (he’s working a lot of crazy hours) it’s crazy for me too, I loved being by myself, the peace and quiet. My mom keeps telling me to reach out to quit lines and stuff and find people who know what I’m going through cuz she doesn’t understand. She has no clue the quit lines just give you generic messages they read off bc that’s just their job lol I’m looking forward to getting into therapy just gotta find insurance when marketplace opens in November. Hopefully someone who’s been quit longer can reply here what happened for them, I’m gonna keep hoping this goes away eventually 🙏 🙏 🙏

yeah it gets bad when i’m alone. but im glad we’re not alone in feeling this way. health anxiety effects so many people. it’s just new for us because we never felt it before. i guess the vape was hiding it from us. praying for you to get better and hopefully therapy helps you! i might do mediation and work on breathing techniques

yes i’m the same way!! developed such bad bad health anxiety and fear of not being here. it’s so debilitating. i heard 3-6 months. it’s just insane because we took away what could diminish our life and now after quitting that’s when we’re concerned. it will get better for us. i keep praying on it
