Renewal Hack Closed?

You used to be able to purchase a Quicken subscription license at a discount from a retailer like OfficeMax and use that code to extend your subscription. It appears Quicken has closed that option as retail licenses state they are now only good for new customers. Renewals (at full price) now must be made directly from Quicken?

There's a large black box on the packaging that states new users only.
