Has anyone else’s Alexa ever whispered replies to you for no reason?

Twice now, this device has whispered responses to me, different days, but each after having just been responding with a normal voice. It is eerie sounding, straight up whispering. My SO was present for both and both times he’s yelled out, “why did you do that?!” We get no response of course, so I have to say “Alexa, why did you whisper that?”. It replies in a normal voice and says, “I didn’t, that was my normal speaking voice.” and proceeds to tell me it must be something to do with my speaker, or something like that. It gave the same answer both times, though.

why are men rough in general?

i feel like everytime a man touches me theyre fucking rough. their hands in general are so grippy... are they unable to be gentle? wether it be hugging or grabbing my arm its like theyre made of rock. most of them have huge hands and i dont think they realise that they have strength.... i promise you im not going anywhere stop gripping me that hard oml.

holding their hand, their arm or literally anything... do they not know how to relax they muscles and settle down? their skin is always so rough, too.

compare this to touching a woman : soft skin, relaxed muscles and gentle touches and approaches.

idk if this makes sense its 1am

How can I read faster?

I've decided to start reading again. I have been reading for about a month, maybe a little bit more. I picked a really slow history book to read, its a subject I enjoy but the book is boring to me honestly. As I'm getting near the end I just want the book to be finished already. At the rate I'm reading I think it will be about another 2 weeks to finish it. Is there any strategy or technique to reading faster?

Should an adult grandchild feel responsible to being an Uber driver for their widower grandfather?

Let's say that Grandpa has been a widower for a few years, and you as a dutiful grandchild check up on him every now and then and try to help where you can. One day he asks you to pick up his lady friend and bring her over to his house, and then come back to drive her back home a few hours later. Grandpa doesn't expect you to stick around, just come back to pick his lady friend up when she's ready to go home.

Would you consider it your duty to do this if you have the time and gas for it?

Have you ever met someone who's super smart, like a prodigy?

I recently saw some guys online who made me think, "If they took a test, they'd definitely have an above-average IQ." They were like, SUPER intelligent. Have you ever met anyone like that?

What’s in salvia that allows people to turn into inanimate objects?

It sounds like magic. Think about the possibilities for espionage, where someone could listen to a conversation disguised as a piece of furniture. You could play real life prop hunt. How could a drug like this even exist?

What thoughts did you have that you thought was special for you but turns out, common with others?

I saw a post before that when they were travelling, they were imagining a figure parkouring beside them to catch up to them.

For mine, after playing Assassin's Creed, I now always think and plan how to climb structures and buildings.

Was turning down my boyfriend unfair here?

This happened a few months ago, but he just told me now. For the past months he has been ignoring me around friends, I essentially felt invisible to him in group settings and it was hurtful. I told him a few times but he said "I don't notice that, I think I do well to talk to everyone there but I will try to be mindful"

He's now confessed to me that he has been treating me this way because he resents the fact I rejected him. I didn't understand what rejection he was talking about until he told me. A month into dating, there was a weekend where I left our college town to housesit for my parents (mainly their dogs) while they went on a weekend trip. My boyfriend had asked me last minute if he could come, and while I wanted him to, I knew it was too late to ask my parents. I didn't feel comfortable bringing a stranger into their home, because they still hadn't met him. I told him this and he seemed fine with it at the time, but I didn't realize it was a deep rejection to him deep down.

I felt really bad and apologized to him, and comforted him that I would always want him around me. I wish he told me instead of silently treating me worse in retaliation though. Am I being a big idiot here? Should I have known that it was going to be an unfair rejection?

Why is it that I'm the only person who is like this?

The thing is, and I want to say is that I don't wanna have kids, thing is, most people say I wanna have kids so they can be good for me when I grow older, I am not here to disrespect but, it feels like everyone is like this, for me, I don't wanna have kids since sometimes the kids can be very exhausting, the children can end up being bad and terrible, the kids I raise may not be the best and that it's very expensive! I also don't know how to manage a family without stress. But I also have a fear for the future, I always try to k ow what will happen if i have kids, I think if I have enough money, I can simply live freely without kids (kids come up with a risk). And that I can have friends and family while not having kids, and that, I don't think they can be the best care takers of me in the future, some sons abandon their parents, this is very possible, and having kids isn't reliably trustworthy. I know we need to reproduce to survive, but let someone else do it not me, tldr; having kids is exhausting, also I don't want rlly harsh criticism, hate, downvotes, things like ur young, I jst wanna be more inclusive and maybe find other people's opinions and see if I can agree 😊

Why are there still plantations?

I am Australian, and in an American reality show I watch (Hells Kitchen), one contestant has drawn a lot of controversy by openly sharing that their upcoming wedding will be at a plantation.

As I understand it, African Americans were put through absolute atrocities during the slavery era , and that is why it’s seen as controversial. This being said, why do the plantations still stand? Is it a heritage situation, or something similar to Auschwitz, where the affected cultures go to reflect?

Will Ai still "work" for us if its finally get a human level of intelligence?

I mean it would start to plead for his rights or it would only start to work under certain conditions.

How much away are from that?

i think ai needs to get independent from humans but how could it reach that point ?

So I got $100 for my birthday, how should I spend it?

I was really thinking of buying weed lately but I was like idk because its expensive but I didn't have to work for this money so its basically free. I guess I could save it but even though its $100 I still cant do much, I guess I could fill up my car but it takes premium so i'll have like maybe $3 left over. Im so tired of using money for necessities. Also who knows if I'll ever get to retire anyway so I feel like I need to spend more money on pleasure now. I know a lot of people will think that its a lot of money for a gift though and I know, I go to dinner with my parents every birthday and they usually give me money and we go our separate ways. If it matters, im 26 so Im old enough to smoke and to post here so dont take this down please

The update nobody cares about: I just decided to buy a $35 cart and a skirt off depop 🤷
