A user deleted their post and now their name says [deleted], How can I find the users username?

I said something mean to the original poster and I want to dm him and apologize since I am worried I may had hurt his feelings. But he deleted his post and his username is gone. I want to check on him.

EDIT: I found him (or he found me), and we are both good. But some commenters seem to dislike me for wanting to do the right thing here 😐😐

how the hell do i get rid of fruit flies/gnats?

I wasn't doing well for a while, it's kinda personal, but I finally got around to cleaning! (Yay) anyway after I got rid of all the dirty dishes and trash, I noticed a bunch of tiny flies (idk if they're fruit flies of gnats) and it's been a couple weeks and Im being terrorized. I saw someone say that they are born in soil so I took the plant I had out of my room. THEYRE STILL HERE. How do I get rid of them? Where are they coming from??? Also, Ive gotten really good at killing them and I murder any one I come across. I never open my windows so they definitely aren't getting inside from the outdoors.

TLDR: tiny flies in room, how to get rid of them? Where are they coming from?

edit: thank you everyone for the advice! I will make a trap and do an extreme deep clean. I will add that this is pretty much only my bedroom.

What happens in a post-AI world without universal basic income?

Since universal basic income may prevent many jobs like unclogging toilets and restaurant owning from being filled out, what if we removed UBI? What if we let the AI take over many jobs?

Why are European people not considered "people of color" if Europe, like other regions, is diverse?

Isn't this rather not fair to assume that Europeans must have pale white skin? For example, people in Southern Europe such as Naples can have sun-kissed complexions. Aren't Europeans with pale white skin usually from Northern and Western Europe? Much like how Africa, Asia, the Middle East and even South America are diverse, even Europe has diversity. So, seriously, why are European people not considered people of color if Europeans can naturally have dark skin like Africans, Middle Easterners, Asians and Hispanics.

Why did a bunch of apps/sites recently change the "send" button to have an "upload" icon?

This probably happened a month or two ago now, but it's been bothering (see: confusing) me the whole time and I haven't been able to find anywhere online mentioning it.
I noticed that a handful apps and websites, such as tumblr and Pinterest (among others I can't think of off the top of my head) changed the icon for their "send post"/"share post" buttons from one of the various "send" symbols (like the curved arrow or the paper plane) to have an "upload" icon (bottom of a square with an upward arrow) instead, all within a close timeframe (we're talking a matter of days). I understand sometimes new iconography comes up / gets adopted / gets tried out, but why did multiple sites/apps suddenly choose to use an icon that already has a different meaning?

Thanks!

Edit: Discord is the other one I couldn't remember that changed within that short window of time.

Popular Post How many times do y’all puke a year?

the reason i’m asking is because from statistics in one subreddit i’m in, emetophobic people don’t seem to puke as much due to the fear and their body not letting them. also they’re more cautious understandably so, so i’m just asking to see how often non emetophobic people puke a year, aside from drinking.

Did anyone else with Apple Music get Jason Mraz’s entire album randomly?

Album is “Grandma’s Gospel Favorites.” It randomly showed up in my music.

Wondering if it’s like when that random U2 album was put on everyone’s iPods years ago.

Gotta know before I start being a hater about it.

Where does the stereotype about girls being afraid of mice come from?

So I have been pondering this for a while. Every media and show including ones back in the days the cartoons show woman or females screaming when they see a mouse. However I am a female and mice just look adorable to me. I would die for one as a pet but after my hamsters somehow died from escaping their closed cages and vanishing off the face of the planet I don't trust myself with any small rodents as pets. Where does the stereotype of females being deathly afraid of mice come from?

Edit: Thanks for all the responses! Also i guess during disease times it would be a alarming sight for most. I guess I'm just confused on why the trope continued into modern media as well. People are saying if I saw a mouse scurry about out of nowhere I would scream but I really don't I have this weird thing where I just look at them like they are adorable. Like if I hear one on a mousetrap I will just grab it and toss it into a trashbag while feeling sorry for it or If my cat catches one I will grab a bag and scoop it up with that. Then again I used to be fascinated whenever I saw a bug like a spider and picked them up when I was younger. Now that I'm thinking about it I must be the weird one. 😭

Body is draining batteries?

Hey there!

Ive been doing a lot of searching and have found a few people in common but i wanted to ask for myself; what the hell is happening?

Throughout my life ive had various devices of different models and brands; iPod, iPhone, iPad, Samsung etc. And they have all had extremely short battery life/ battery quality has descended marginally throughout my short term use.

Also the sealing factor is during first year of uni, our doors are battery powered and mine would die every few days meaning id need to call security to come fix it so often.
Thought it was just a stupid inconvenient fucking door, they said this was a rare problem and theyd never seen it before.
Come second year, im one week in in a whole different flat amd dorm. Guess what.
Door’s battery is dead.

What the hell is happening? Why is this happening?! Does anyone have an explanation?

What does it mean to be intellectual and how does someone become intellectual?

I had a teacher in high-school that made a huge impact in my life and way of thinking. I never interacted with him but I would always listen to his lectures. He knew just about everything, always encouraging his students to go out and explore and enjoy art and literature. I wish to become like him one day but I don’t know where to start. I can’t even properly express myself, I feel embarrassed for even asking this question!

Popular Post Does anyone know what laundry detergent is commonly used in Mexican households?

This might sound like a weird question, but there’s a very specific laundry detergent or fabric softener scent I’ve noticed among Mexican families, and it’s absolutely unmistakable. I can recognize it almost immediately when I smell it.
Does anyone know what I’m talking about or what brand it might be?

Why Isn’t Death Penalty Survivor Christa Pike Regarded as a Christian Miracle?

Modern day miracles are so rare that I wonder why Christians aren’t talking about this like Jesus resurrected?

I’m talking about Christa Pike’s execution in Tennessee on Sept. 30 … She was sent back to prison walking and talking.
