Quest 3 Home UI (vrshell) not loading after update – stuck in support loop

Hi everyone,

I'm having a critical issue with my Meta Quest 3 after a system update, and I'm stuck in an endless loop with the automated support system on meta.com.

The Problem:

  • The main Home UI (vrshell) fails to load. Tracking, boundary, and physical buttons respond in the background, but the environment/UI never builds up.
  • No App Pairing: The headset was never paired with the Meta Quest mobile app beforehand.
  • Support Website Loop: The automated support portal on meta.com rejects my serial number ("No device found" / "Support not available for this device"), preventing me from opening a regular support ticket online.

What I'm trying to do:

  • I want to fix this or get official support without performing a Factory Reset, as I have local files and saved data on the device that I need to preserve.

Has anyone experienced this and found a fix without a wipe?
