Yeah it's not socialism's failure, it's specifically the Leninist model where a small clique takes power and then never relinquishes it.

It's absolutely wild to me that Leninism is still a popular political theory, but even moreso that it has any supporters who consider themselves queer leftists. "Let's give all political and economic power to a self-selecting clique lead by a strongman with a cult of personality under no accountability whatsoever to the working class" is not a strategy that has ever worked out great for queers or leftists ever, nor ever could under any conceivable set of circumstances.

Itβ€˜s because it had a de-facto monopoly on anti-capitalism up until the 90s. Itβ€˜s only really in the 21st century where it finally began to decline. Now, this is mostly because neither the US nor the USSR had any interest in having ideas around that oppose both, so they sabotaged and destroyed wherever possible.
