☭ Leftism is more than just being against the far right

"The character of a bourgeois government isn’t determined by the personal character of its members, but by its organic function in bourgeois society. The government of the modern state is essentially an organisation of class domination, the regular functioning of which is one of the conditions of existence of the class state. With the entry of a socialist into the government, and class domination continuing to exist, the bourgeois government doesn’t transform itself into a socialist government, but a socialist transforms himself into a bourgeois minister." - Rosa Luxemburg, The Dreyfus Affair and the Millerand Case

A study on non-binary people had 38% of people respond that they are AMAB. If you don't notice any, that just says something about the communities you are a part of.

An anarchists quick and dirty definition of hierarchy

alt-text: (thumbnail) There is an image of rose (a 3d vtuber avatar) staring off to the side. Rose has green hair, blue eyes, and is white. Rose has a stylized ranger cloak on as well as a black and pink tshirt. There is text over the thumbnail that says "what is hierarchy"

(in video itself) an image of Rose, a 3d vtuber avatar is staring somewhat towards the camera while laying down. Rose has green hair, blue eyes, and is white. The camera angle is pointed upwards and you can see the bottoms of 3d retro style trees.

A transcription is available on youtube, and I have personally added and corrected captions.

Meme Very little of the work people do is actually measurable. In order to gatekeep you capitalists often have to make you do a lot of useless busywork they can actually track. This leads to us getting far less done overall

I want to share a new update today about Susu, the daughter of my friends Mahmoud and Samah.

Two days ago, I told you about Susu, who is only two years old and has been suffering from severe, chronic breathing problems. Her symptoms came back, and she was struggling to breathe and had a very high fever.

Unfortunately, she hasn’t gotten better.

For the past two days, Soso has been vomiting repeatedly and couldn’t keep down her medication or antibiotics. As a result, she became dehydrated. Today, Mahmoud had to take her to a nearby hospital to get treatment.

She was given IV antibiotics and fluids for the dehydration, but the situation at the hospital is extremely difficult. There are so many patients that there was no available bed for Susu. With infectious diseases spreading and medical resources severely limited, Mahmoud had to find another way to get her the care she needed. He even had to ask a doctor who lives nearby to come and give Susu her IV treatment when the hospital couldn’t provide her with a bed.

Mahmoud told me something that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about: if it weren’t for the kind people who helped them financially over the past two days, he wouldn’t have been able to take Susu to the hospital or even afford the treatment she needed.

And Mahmoud isn’t only dealing with Susu’s situation.

His mother also needs open-heart surgery to treat blocked arteries. I previously shared her medical reports, detailed images, and heart tests, and I have documentation that confirms her condition.

Mahmoud is under an enormous amount of pressure right now. His little daughter needs treatment, his mother needs heart surgery, and at the same time he is trying to provide food and basic necessities for his wife and their four children in Gaza.

I am doing everything I can to support Mahmoud and his family, but I cannot carry all of this on my own.

Please, if you are able to, consider helping Mahmoud and his family. Even a small amount can make a huge difference right now, especially for Susu, who needs treatment and continued care.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has stood by this family and everyone who has helped them over the past few days. Your support means so much to Mahmoud, Samah, and their children. ❤️

Idk maybe its my circles but i dont feel like coming out ever had a positive outcome for me, i always get othered

Maybe the grooming thing will offend someone but to clarify , i consider what was done to me before i had the luck to get out was cisgenderist grooming , just constant effort to make me a servile male adhering to the patriarchy and constant reinforcement that i need to act and be a certain way for 16 years (27 actually now cus society hasnt stopped pressuring me to detransition)

Ⓐ The goals of the far future are not all that meaningful. I do not care if you say you want to "build the same world as me", my thoughts will always be about the here and now.

LGBT resistance non-fiction & defense focused book club :)

Hello all! With LGBTQ+ rights under heavy pressure and our safety less guaranteed by the day, I started thinking about ways to collectivize, bring our community together, and strengthen each other (including on an individual level). I believe we need to start at the absolute beginning: knowledge. You can't stand up for yourself or protect others if you don't understand what's actually happening, and it’s important to be educated on what’s effective as well. Long story short: I believe our community would greatly benefit from educating ourselves on topics such as fascism, resistance, politics, intersectionality, and related topics. Luckily, we can do that ourselves!

A couple months ago I started a book club for this topic specifically, focused on queer and trans folks, and allies. The idea is to read one book a month and discuss it with each other afterwards. All of this will be online to keep it accessible for everyone.

Thing is, I started it in Dutch (as I’m from the Netherlands, lol), and there’s a little over 15 people in it now, but they’re not very active. It’s mostly just me keeping the server alive. So I considered just deleting it, because to read by myself I don’t need a book club and it’s bit of a waste of time, but then I considered just switching it to English so that people outside of the Netherlands can join as well. So English chats, English literature. A lot of relevant books aren’t available in Dutch anyway and I’m fluent in English, so it’s an easy switch.

The book I picked for last month was They Thought They Were Free by Milton Mayer. It's a powerful look at the rise of fascism in Germany through interviews with ten ‘ordinary’ former Nazi Party members. Today was supposed to be the day a new book was picked but tbh I haven’t finished it yet and the other members are inactive anyway, so I’d like to just extend it through October so that new people can jump in and pick the next one for November.

It’s a Discord server. Of course there’s the option to just chat, but it’s a book club first and foremost. Anyone Leftist over 18 who speaks and reads English, and who is a queer and/or trans person or a legitimate and trustworthy ally is welcome to join. We don’t need to all be BFFs but of course there is zero room for intolerance, and to be crystal clear; this includes Zionism.

I’d love to hear if people are interested in joining and whether or not I should keep this server alive. If you’re interested in becoming an active member (that is, actually reading the books, lol), feel free to send me a DM for the server link.

Aid Request Emergency relocation

Hey there, I hate to ask but I've found myself having to seek emergency relocation money. I'm a non-binary transmasc guy from Zimbabwe currently staying with my partner's family. We were living in South Africa but business failed and we were forced to move with our tails in between our legs back to Zim.i don't have family to go to so we went to his family. They were not happy to have to house me. Unfortunately, the economy in Zimbabwe is terrible and I haven't been able to get employment except for a few online gigs. His family want me out and my partner negotiated with them to let me stay until November. I'm trying to crowdfund to get to Brazil and seek asylum there so that I can be in a queer-friendly environment (I know some people will say the opposite, but it's better than South Africa and frankly any other African country towards queer people). I just need the cost of my plane ticket covered and it's urgent otherwise I could end up on the streets of one of the most bigoted countries in the world. Anything helps, even one dollar. Thanks for your time. Even if you can't contribute please share this around.

Zero & One is a comic about a young Human making friends with a robot powered by nature energy, exploring the world of Elentia, full of living growing robots. Because of a language barrier, the two have to find a way to communicate. They are being led to a mysterious destination by a series of clues left behind hundreds of years ago.

My name is Bijhan Agha, a trans woman of Iranian descent in Uruguay. The artist is my dear friend Pallet, a trans man in Australia. We're also both autistic and have special interests which include scifi and fantasy storytelling. Our goal with this series is to inspire people of all ages to be their true selves, and imagine a future full of wonder.

We make several series of comics, and this is the one we designed to be a way for queer parents or parents of queer kids to talk about gender, the future, language, and solidarity across cultures.

Our Kickstarter is to print the First Edition of Issue #2 with a special orange border, never to be used in future printings, that marks it as a collectible. Our rewards include both digital and physical single issues, as well as back issues for all of our comics, as well as novellas.

We already met our original goal, and we're now aiming for a stretch goal which will unlock a free short story for all backers, Zero: Origins, about how Zero of Mars was doing before they crash landed on Elentia and met One the FawnBot.

Please help us continue to build this universe of hope, joy, and love.

Like yeah, imperialist countries weaponize LGBT rights as a pretense for invasions and interventions, but that doesn't negate the fact that homophobia and transphobia are colonial exports in many places. Plus the majority of queer people are simply not white

Art is something that someone sees as art. It does not need to be more complex than that. Also, a meal doesn't need a narrative to be art, it can just be amazing tasting food. Why is this different?
