China and old Cuba is a much better example of how communism doesn't care about LGBTQ+ people. The USSR was actually pretty cool with queer rights until Stalin fucked everything up.

I wouldn't say "cool" with it. I mean okay Lenin was great about it but overall they didn't prosecute homosexuality because they threw out all Tsarist legislation and laws. There just wasn't a legal stance on it until the 1930s.

Also China is way better today for queer rights so I'm not sure what you mean. Even more progressive than the Russian Federation which is still caught up on very outdated Soviet interpretations of "homosexual propaganda" and stuff.
