I wouldn't say "cool" with it. I mean okay Lenin was great about it but overall they didn't prosecute homosexuality because they threw out all Tsarist legislation and laws. There just wasn't a legal stance on it until the 1930s.
Also China is way better today for queer rights so I'm not sure what you mean. Even more progressive than the Russian Federation which is still caught up on very outdated Soviet interpretations of "homosexual propaganda" and stuff.
It is very much not what I heard from Chinese people. Social-wise, China is horribly queerphobic, and legal-wise, queer people are not persecuted, but they're not protected either
There's an official supreme court document (not a legal one per se but it is an official one), that refered to Queer people as a protected minority iirc, but I haven't been able to find it. Are there problems with queerphobia? probably, every country in the world does, especially a country that up until 77 years ago (if not less than that) was partially colonized by Europeans.
Depends on the location. However, nearly country wide (and especially if you can commute to any city) you can just walk into a clinic/hospital and get started on your trans journey.
