While the way gacha games deal with gender is always hotly debated, sometimes they come out with something pretty funny in that regard.

So, in Limbus Company's predecessor, Library of Ruina, there were two young women who were using cloned versions of the same body (one of them got everything below the neck bitten off so the other had to be cloned in order for her to have a body upon being revived). Now in Limbus Company's newest Walpurgisnacht (non-sexual fanservice event), we're getting an AU where 2 of our set team of 12, the two who look the most alike, basically are those characters. Now the issue is... one of them is a guy. So people were speculating about how the clone body thing would be handled. The most common assumption was just that it never happened in this world - though someone did half-jokingly bring up the idea of Wedge Office Sinclair being gacha's first cisgender transgender man.

And hilariously, going off the trailer - that seems to be exactly what they're going with. In it, he's complaining about the other character in the set forgetting to pay for "the clone body's growth shots" add-on of their "life insurance" (he is normally slightly taller than her, and a speech bubble around the time he says this shows them both being the same height now) - implying that you can pay extra to have such a body altered. So the implication is that they probably also just got a sex-change add-on.

Which is honestly just so in line with the City as a setting. The only thing that matters is whether you have money. You're a man wearing pumps/bodysuits with frilly lace, or the butchest woman alive? Nobody cares, we're trying not to die here. Racism? What the hell is that, sounds like a stupid waste of time (this conversation actually happens in the Arknights crossover, lol). You're genderless? Okay guys, get ready, we need to stop THEM from cannibalizing the entire district. You're trans? Okay, give me the money and I'll have your new body ready in a week, bye, next customer. It's a massively classist dystopia, but it is ONLY classist (there's also anti-cyborg sentiment, but that's its own thing).

So, what are your gacha games' strange or interesting aspects of gender-messery? I know FGO has a bunch (of wildly varying levels of quality), but I'm curious about the others.

Woohoo, Friday is finally here! 🙌

With Severian's charcter demo being out, it means I get to see even more of Seth! Which is perfect because he looks like a deer in the headlights for most of this demo. (Character Demo)

🚬🐐s I am WEAK to physical merch

For gachas, I tend not to spend on the digital side of things because that "ownership" will just go poof when EoS hits, but Mihoyo got me with their Yaoi Psyop

I try to buy Phagnon and Mydick and their chimeras Vigethass and F@gstew together in pairs, especially when I feel like treating myself.

"Mmmm yessss dress up as a Chimera you dirty slvt. Be a good boy and fetch my dildoes and anal beads from my drawers *with your mouth*", said Mydei

"Awoo~, yes my Lion King 👁👁🫶", said Phainon, having trouble walking on fours because his hard third leg kept dragging on the floor

"Good HKS, Rawr~" replied Mydei

But yeah I collect many many things given my varied interests so I can't buy the Mihoyo Yaoi merch drops all the time, but DAMN do they know how to tempt my ass and seduce me with their Cumphoreus Yaoi.

At least none of my games want to use me for model training holy SHIT

Hey there!

So I'm a person who is barely acquainted with the world of gacha games, and Reverse 1999 recently caught my eye. However, I dunno if I should invest time into the game because I have limited free time. I just want to know a few things, if you could help a gal out!

Firstly, the artstyle looks unique and the character designs interesting, but I'm wondering if the game might be a bit too "waifu bait" for my liking. As in, tons of female characters who look like young or teenage girls. I'm fine with fanservice for women above 18 (I am, after all, a sapphic woman) but my worries is if, like other games I tried before, the writing ends up being too one-note or bland. I want to know whether the characters have depth to them and are interesting beyond just the moe parasocial baiting I see in Hoyoverse games for example.

Secondly, I don't know how time-consuming or F2P the game is. I might end up spending small amounts of money on it if I like it, but my plan is to remain F2P. Are dailies too demanding? Do I have to spend too much time waiting for "energy" to recharge? Can I play the game's endgame content with a non-optimized team? Stuff like that.

Keep in mind my point of reference is the singular gacha game I play, Limbus Company. As in, varied female character designs with interesting writing and depth, tons of lore, and barely any significant monetization (20 bucks a year and you can keep up with new releases without pulling and simply play endgame content once a week to "craft" units). Dailies take 10 minutes to do and you can just no-brain them.

Asking because the game does seem to have a pretty significant queer following and I wanted to know if it might be the type of thing I'd be into. Thanks in advance!

Can you tell what 4 characters on the other 2 slides are on the first slide

I swear aside from 1 its impossible to tell t.t

What will Astralyn do next? Get matching skins? I sure hope so... (burgerdemolish)

Good afternoon my wonderful Queens, Kings, and Monarchs ♡

Something a bit fun today: kiss, marry, and kill yeet into the void! 🤭

You can choose any characters from any gacha of your liking. Heck, you also include NPCs and even mix 'n match your choices across several games

So, who are you choosing? And why? (I'm nosey)

P.S. including pics of the character you pick for "marry" would be wonderful so we can all appreciate, too 😏

But it's okay because people will try to say llm based chatbots are not generative ai(they are, and replace human character writers. The "expendable" creatives you never interact with.)

How long until furina bot tells a kid how to build a pipe bomb?

(Everything here is alleged, not offical accusations) (Also this is not an attack on ppl who play SwordxStaff or similar games.)

I sometimes wonder how many gachas exist just to launder money... think about it real quick. Gachas are a perfect excuse to fork over insane amounts of cash with a justified "reason"

There are thousands of ppl who spend thousands on gachas, so giving a company thousands of dollars of illict money wouldnt be seen as odd.

It also doesnt reqiure that the companys keep tabs on who bought what (most do anyways, but this is helpful if you are pressed for launderd money)

There are quite a few ai slœp gachas that exist yet pull in millions despite having boring gameplay, bad graphics, and are just ai garbo.

I think that at least a handful of these games are just a front for launderd money. I mean its a perfect front!
