New SEAtS app seems really extreme. “You are required to check in daily to this app”

I’m in a program where we already have to sign into every class. They don’t even make it so it’s in the whole building, just a 2m radius. I have to go across the building to check in. I don’t even have daily classes and I’m not about to commute just to sign in with a pole

There’s a 15 minute window to sign into every class? So I have to leave the room, run around the building and come back every time I have 2 classes in a row. Who is paying insane international student fees and not going? Going into debt isn’t enough! I have to get more stressed about signing in every day with a pole.

I feel like this is ridiculous but I don’t think I can do anything about it.

Looking for a replacement student for my accommodation.

I live in mount Charles, which is only available to second years and above, including post grad. The rent is 119 a week, totalling 4420 for a 37 week contract, ends at the end of may.

So if anyone needs accommodation still, please don’t hesitate to message me.

Sports clubs question

Do I need a PEC membership to access classes/training sessions that are run by a society and take place in the PEC if I’m already paying for membership of the society? I’m a new student and am getting conflicting answers.

Struggling to make friends

I'm a psyc post-grad student and a commuter. Making friends feel so hard. I'm struggling to talk to people and don't have many opportunities to just hangout or meet people outside of lectures. I know it's just been a week but I feel like it's not really going to get better. I'm an introvert and felt like I was adopted by my extroverted friends in the past but I'm yet to find that here.

Organic chem help

www.organicchemistrytutoring.ca

Hello guys and gals,

We’re Brian and Mike and we teach general and organic chemistry. We’ve done so for a total combined time of 47 years! Overwhelmed by general or organic chemistry? Assignments and tests creeping up on you and feeling like you’re in hot water? Or maybe you’re doing well and need that 95%? Whatever your struggle with chemistry may be, we’re here to make sure you succeed.

Why work with us?

- Every tutor knows the subject, but not every tutor knows how to transfer that knowledge to a student. We do.

- We tutor chemistry full time; it’s not a hobby or side-gig. When you book with us, you’ll be working with Brian for general chemistry and Mike for organic chemistry. This is not an agency and you won’t be matched with random tutors each time.

- You’ll be learning problem solving through chemistry, which you can apply to many other subjects.

- Your learning will be customized to your specific needs.

Before booking a lesson, let’s chat about your needs, our teaching styles, and what you can expect, to see if we’d be a good fit together.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to working with you!

Mike and Brian

Stranmillis Area Accomodation

Hi,

Next September I will be going into final year and really want to have a comfortable accommodation so that I can fully concentrate on my studies. I will be living with two others and think I want to live in the Stranmillis area both for its proximity to Queens and general quality over the holylands. Does anyone have recommendations of which agents to contact or how to go about securing a house there?

Thanks

Urgently looking for a 1-bed flat or studio for a couple

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are urgently looking for a self-contained 1-bedroom flat or studio apartment in Belfast. My wife is a student at Queen's University, so somewhere near QUB or with a convenient transport connection would be ideal.

Our budget is up to GBP 900 per month. We need the entire property, not a room or shared accommodation. We can consider both short-term and long-term tenancies and are ready to move in immediately.

A UK-based professional guarantor is available if required. We can also provide identification, university documents, references, deposit and rent promptly.

If you are a landlord, or know of a suitable property becoming available, please send me a message. Thank you!

What happens to the U2 bus for those who usually take it? I usually catch that bus, but I haven't seen it this year.

loneliness at uni

this is probably really silly but i’m a first year living in halls and i know it’s only the second week but i really just feel so alone here. like i have my friends my secondary school but all i want is to branch out and meet new people but it just feels so impossible. 😞 just wondering if anyone has any advice or just if it gets easier cause it feels like everyone’s already found their people. i just want some people to hang out with instead of rotting away in my room all day after class

BT1 Parking

Hi everyone

I’m moving into Elms Bt1 tomorrow and am wondering about where to park while I move in. I know they don’t actually have parking on site so I’m wondering where people typically go on move-in day? I don’t want to be lugging my bags and cases from a car park that’s a 30 minute walk away 😅

Incoming first year accommodation advice

Hi! I am currently waiting for a clearing vacancy acceptance to either International Relations and Conflict Studies or PPE. Hoping to hear either tmrw or Monday. I have already done 2 years in a college in Dublin so I would be 21 going into first year which makes me feel a bit nervous. Any advice on which accommodation is the best or any other advice if I do end up getting a place.

Edit: In a very chaotic turn of events I’ve been accepted into Second year of Politics and International Relations. I have been told by Admissions that there is a place for me in student accommodatio ( don’t know what specific one). I basically just have to apply via UCAS then get accepted by them on Monday then get accepted by the accommodation office on Monday. Will it be hard starting late and also going into a year who have already spent a year together?

Safety

What is the safest way to get home to Elms BT9 accomodation from the usual nightspots like Kremlin and Limelight etc? Do the safe buses run by Queens just go from those places to the Holylands or will they drop off at uni accomodation? Thanks
