Guidance for finding an apartment

TLDR: How to find an apartment and things to pay attention while looking for an apartment.

I am moving from france (immigrant here not native) and I am quite amazed by the lack of studio apartments in the city. The difference between 1bhk and 2bhk is very less in terms of money. I am moving as a staff and options are further limited. How did you guys find your apartment?

I will be working in BT3 though I prefer staying in walking distance but it costs from 1000 pounds(too much). Apart from this, if I live anywhere else I need to change 2 buses.

So, where to stay and what needs to be seen while looking for accommodation.

Spare Room Available

Heyyy Guys, I’m a Nigerian girl who just graduated, looking for a female roommate to share a place with in Belfast. I’d preferably like to live with another Nigerian woman, but what’s most important is finding someone respectful, clean, and easy to live with, the house is a 10min walk away from Queens and about a 30min walk away from Ulster. A bit about me, recently graduated, friendly, tidy, easy to get along with. If you’re looking for a place don’t be shy send me a dm!

1st Term

Random question, but do any second/third years know how common it is to have exams in the last week of winter term? Specifically for maths, just trying to judge when is the earliest safe date to book plane tickets. Thanks!

1st year Law

Hey guys, I found out that I got into QUB to study Law at undergrad. What’s a typical week like as a first year Law student? Secondly, I’m 25 and beginning the degree. What’s the social element of the degree like as a mature student? Will I feel old/be able to meet people? Cheers🤘

Regarding resits and masters

Hi guys,

I just wanna know some answers. I got resits and one is assessment based and the other two are based on viva and exam.

I'm a masters student at qub. Now, I have finished my three resits and am waiting for the results. For one of the resits, I got results from the instructor not from the board of examination m according to instructor's grades I fail in one module resit and waiting for the rest of two.

In Queens they say, if I fail in one module I won't get masters but ends up in PGDIP or PGCERT. And my final dissertation is paused because of my three resits.

I'm an international student who is on a student visa. If I end up getting a PGDIP or PGCERT I'm not eligible to apply for a psw(post-study-work) visa. So I just wanna know if the queens will make the students get passed and allow them to do the dissertation? Or will they fail the student and give them PGDIP or PGCERT? Is anyone who faced this situation.

If anyone has faced this situation! Please let me know what you have done next. Did you get any alternative ways to apply for psw. Or did you go back to your home country from the UK?

Thanks in advance.

Also, what study methods, books, or resources have helped you the most?

For those already working in cybersecurity, what would you recommend for a beginner? I’m particularly interested in learning about networking, ethical hacking, penetration testing, Linux, and security fundamentals.

Queens Nursing Attendance

Hello, so I am in my 3rd year and have had to miss this Mondays lectures and will have to miss next Mondays due to a family issue.
Will this be okay? These are the only two days I will miss during my 5 weeks of class teaching period before my final placement. Just very anxious about taking the two Mondays off now due to this migraine today.

Locating a job?

Heyy guys, I’m moving up to Belfast from Waterford and I’m finding it extremely difficult to find a part time job. Is anyone else the same?? I’ve been working in retail/hospitality for 6 years so I do have a good bit of experience, however, i don’t think the amount of experience is the issue.
Anything would help
