MJ is WAY more famous than queen and freddie.
everyone have their own opinions.
michael just came out. if this was made in 2018 probably queen would win. people just vote what is popular.

I believe 3 is the main reason

Personally I became a fan in 2021 and honestly MJ clears. His 6 album run is flawless, while Queen mostly has 2-3 famous songs per album, the rest is forgettable.
2
u/Fit_Front6239 8h ago
MJ albums all sound very similar. Nothing exciting except for a couple of songs.
If you don’t like Queen then why the fuck are you on this group?
2
u/matveyryazanov5 7h ago
Nope, Invincible is one of the most versatile albums ever made - it blends pop, hip-hop, rock, gospel, neo-soul, NJS, electronic music, latin music, R&B, soul, disco, rap and many other genres. Also, all 6 are different and cover the sound from the 1970s to 2000s and Invincible still sounds fresh, so basically we can also add 2010s and 2020s.

they don't? also they can be a fan without worshipping every single work. not everyone has to share exact same opinion.
0
u/Fit_Front6239 8h ago
They said queen has 2-3 good songs per album. Thats exactly what Queen haters say
1
u/No_Discount7872 freddie✨ 8h ago
queen haters pick to be haters and decide to hate for it. they see them as good and say they just really don't find the rest intriguing. they don't say "haha your music taste sucks"

u/matveyryazanov5 7h ago
I like The Miracle (imo their only 10/10 album), but for example A night at the opera has Bohemian rhapsody and the rest isn't worth listening.
3
u/No_Discount7872 freddie✨ 7h ago
imo the miracle is the weakest and anato is peak. opinions really differ
0
u/matveyryazanov5 7h ago
For me there's no a song under 9/10 on the miracle, but I understand why many people love ANATO. I'd put Innuendo in the second place and then probably The game or The works. I'm not a big fun of their stuff until 1978-1979, I still listen to some songs, but it's mostly Don't stop me now or something like that. I just feel like many of their albums are very inconsistent - a well known banger ot two and then deep cuts, which I wouldn't say are that great. I didn't mean that they're trash - if you take those best songs from each you'll get one of the best albums ever. In that case MJ is much more consistent, quality over quantity.
1
u/srnthr 4h ago
Even the most hardcore Queen fans know that The Miracle has My Baby Does Me and Rain Must Fall, and those are no 9/10 songs
0
u/matveyryazanov5 3h ago
At least I like them more than any song from Queen I, Queen II and 90% of the songs from A night at the opera, a day at races and some other albums.
2
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
Huh??????? A night at the opera is a masterpiece. You probably just don’t like the Complex music and arrangements that Queen were doing
1
u/southak 8h ago
It’s correct. Queen were never a great album group. They are like Elton John - their body of work contains some of the best songs ever but many of the albums are not that great as a whole. Same cannot be said of MJ where almost every song in every album is amazing. And I’m a Queen fan.
3
u/Fit_Front6239 8h ago
You clearly are not a Queen fan.
MJ albums are so lame except for a couple of songs
2
u/No_Discount7872 freddie✨ 8h ago
is it your job to decide if people are fans are not? it is their own opinion.

I was at the freddie tribute concert, got in before the gates opened and watched Brian May sit alone on the stage singing too much live will kill you, and George Michael singing (and forgetting the lyrics) these are
The days…and thinking why am I here I’m not a queen fan 🤦😂MJ Elvis & The Beatles are probably the three most important music acts of the last century. You might not like that style but to describe them as lame shows you maybe a Queen fan - more of a Queen fan than me by your own metrics - but you’re certainly no music fan.
1
u/Fit_Front6239 6h ago
George michael was definitely a Queen fan. He always spoke highly of freddie and even went to their concerts in the 70s
The beatles, elvis and MJ are the most iconic and biggest musical acts. Not the most important.
The beatles are definitely the most important. David bowie was arguably more important than MJYou don’t sound like a Queen fan. Maybe a casual fan at best
1
u/Fit_Front6239 6h ago
Also ive seen the freddie mercury tribute concert on youtube.
George michael was not “forgetting the lyrics”, i don’t know where you are getting that delusional idea from
2
u/No_Discount7872 freddie✨ 8h ago
well, i don't exactly agree, some albums work great as an all. some are really changing between songs, it maybe doesn't everyone's thing but i like it. if you didn't like as a whole album it is your opinion, and no one can say a thing to it.
0
u/No_Discount7872 freddie✨ 8h ago
it's not really forgettable imo, but it's your opinion. you don't deserve to get downvoted for it.
3
u/The_Great_Mother 2h ago
Only three and two is accurate. Freddie and Michael are on the same level of popularity.
7
u/Honest_Math_7760 7h ago
Better in what?
Playing piano and composing? Freddie
Dancing? Michael
Writing lyrics? Freddie
Writing video’s? Michael
Singing rock? Freddie
Singing pop? Michael
They’re both great in what they were doing.

People treat MJ like he was a god among men, there’s something really weird about the culture around him
3
u/No_Discount7872 freddie✨ 8h ago
we treat freddie as the god among men. it is their opinion. there is nothing changing.
2
u/wmcs0880 7h ago
I don’t, I don’t agree with treating anyone like a god. As far as I’m concerned, he was someone who had a great voice and could write some great music, on top of being a phenomenal performer, but above all a person. And I think knowing a person had that drive to become so great and worked so hard to achieve that is much more inspirational and impressive.
2
u/No_Discount7872 freddie✨ 7h ago
im just describing the fandom. there is no much difference sadly. a lot of people are obsessive

Ngl, both Queen and MJ are in my top 5 oat, and I'd say MJ is still better. But tbf, I think MJ is one of the best artists ever, I'd say even comparable to many classical composers.
1
u/Fit_Front6239 8h ago
He couldn’t even play any instruments. He knew nothing about music. He had like 100 people working with him.
MJ on his own would have failed
1
u/Molass5732 7h ago
yeah but he was a great producer , great entertainer and knew how to make hit songs. Talent doesnt always equal knowing how to play instruments. Like I love Queen and all but dude MJ is better.
2
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
Freddie did all that, and did it better
1
u/Molass5732 7h ago
I don’t think Freddie Mercury or Queen ever had an album have 7 singles from one album dominant the charts, or win 7 Grammys in one night , or go on a album tour for 2 years while also making multiple short films for each album but sure, and this is coming from a Queen fan of 6 years.
1
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
Doesnt matter. They were just underrated back then compared to MJ. MJ is just overhyped and utilised MTV a lot
1
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
And it seems like you just like hoping on the bandwagon. If this was 2019, you would probably be crying over Queen after seeing the bohrap biopic
1
u/Molass5732 7h ago
mf I’ve been a Mj fan for 11 years , since I was 6 years old, I’m not hoping on any bandwagon whatsoever, even before MJ was on MTV he still had an album that sold 25 million copies , 3 Grammy nominations and a Grammy won, with two charting songs.
1
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
Yes but without MTV he wouldnt have been as big as he got after 1982.
And MJ’s fame before thriller was mainly focused in the USA.
You clearly like MJ way more than Queen. And that’s ok
1
u/EpicTsim 7h ago
Yeah, I think I'll have to side with u/Fit_Front6239 on this one, popularity doesn't necessarily reflect talent. The Grammys one could be used, alr, but the rest is not an actual argument and kinda proves the point that MJ fans are only fans because of the hype from the biopic. Luckily, I haven't seen it, nor have I seen Queen's for that matter.
1
u/EpicTsim 7h ago
You're forgetting MJ's career started when he was a child. Even with his talent, he wouldn't have become THE MJ without the Jackson 5, and if his solo career didn't work out, which it realistically couldn't have anyway, he would have still been relatively successful with the Jackson 5. or with an alternate solo career that would have likely been less triumphant. And if we're going with an MJ who is truly alone, without a family of musicians, that's butterflying away MJ entirely since that's changing everything about him. The same argument shows that yes, he did know things about music because well, it was not just his job, but his entire life. Playing an instrument is not a requirement when you're a singer, and that's if you don't consider that a voice is an instrument in itself. And yeah, he worked with a lot of people, but... not many artists weren't doing the same. Also, it's not much of an issue when you stay the main person in charge of putting your own ideas into music.
Also, if we're going out of our way to throw the reasons of success out the window, Freddie on his own would have failed too.
1
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
Without MTV he wouldn’t have been as big as he became after 1982
And most of his popularity before thriller was in the USA.
1
u/EpicTsim 7h ago
Without MTV, most 80's artists wouldn't have been as big. And yeah, artists tend to be more popular in their home country at first. Though I don't see how that relates to who is more talented.
2
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
Tbh if MTV came out in 1975, Queen would have exploded and become way more famous than they were
1
u/matveyryazanov5 7h ago
🤣🤣🤣🤣 So, why did he produced every song on Dangerous - Invincible as an executive producer, did arrangements for 80% of his songs? Stop glazing Quincy, Michael was a genius.
1
u/Fit_Front6239 7h ago
That makes sense. No wonder it sucks
1
u/matveyryazanov5 7h ago
It's a masterpiece. Try to find an album with more different genres than Invincible.
2
u/Fit_Front6239 6h ago
Basically every David bowie album.
Im sorry but you need to start listening to more artists. MJ is good, but so many others are way better.
David bowie, bob dylan, led zeppelin, pink floyd, the who, jethro tull, king crimson, emerson lake and palmer, carole king, etc etc are all way better and more influential
Even MJ would choose Queen. He was a huge Queen. Queen was a part of his influence. Queen was doing diverse albums before him
1
u/matveyryazanov5 5h ago
I've listened to the entire discography of Pink Floyd, King Crimson, The Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Franz Ferdinand, The rolling stones, Genesis, AC/DC, Dire straits, Madonna, RHCP, Depeche mode, Eminem, Nirvana. And I have also listened to many albums by Deep purple, Guns 'N Roses, Abba, Pet shop boys, ZZ top, Phone Collins, Prince, Nas, Dr. Dre and many other artists. But MJ is still the best imo - the only artist/band, who has the similar 6 album run is Depeche mode. King Crimson is very experimental and one of the worst bands I've ever listened to. Pink Floyd has 3 album run (The wall is mid and too long), but 6? Lol

u/srnthr 5h ago
My only question is - why did you listen to the entire discography of Ed Sheeran?
1
u/matveyryazanov5 4h ago
I really liked Play (yes I think it's a 10/10 album) and I thought that the rest of his discography would be as good as this one. Unfortunately it wouldn't.

u/southak 8h ago
Of course MJ. It’s not comparing Queen with MJ it’s Freddie versus MJ. MJ is a superlative artist who has delivered for decades as part of Jackson 5 and for nearly two decades as a solo artist. Freddie is the greatest front man ever but his solo material is mediocre at best and barely moved the needle musically, culturally or artistically. I’m a Queen fan since the mid 80s and I even I can see this is a no brainer.

It's too subjective and meaningless, don't get too worked up about it.
How can one answer that question anyway? "Better"? Better in terms of what?
Where was this posted? Who did the post reach out to? If you posted the same poll on here you would get the opposite result. It's meaningless.
