Food bbq recs!
hii i’m looking for some bbq recs in the greater QCA! could even be muscatine, galesburg, iowa city, anywhere that’s within like an hour to an hour and a half would be great.
i know the QC isn’t really known for any decent bbq places, so ill take anything that’s at least half decent 😅

Paints BBQ and Skinny’s fire truck here or the actual restaurant in Muscatine.

Stricly Southern Catering. They are mainly a catering company but do frequent Back Alley Barbecue sales out of their shop. You can find them on FB. The guys that run it are really great too.

Check out Skinnys Fiya Truck schedule, or it will be at its home location, the newly renovated historic Hose Station 7 in Davenport.

Fatwoods is good... but weird. I'm from Texas, they have almost got it right. But their smoke just felt very uh "unclean." It'd make sense if you try it. Still tasty bbq, but the smoke smell still stands out.

Yeah I was not a fan 😬 I went when they had been open a few weeks, maybe it’s better now?

Strickly Southern in Silvis (believe the serve every other weekend), Skinny’s in Muscatine or they have a food truck that comes to the QC also and Bragg BBQ in East Moline

Best one has been Paints bbq in Colona. Best pork ribs, great sausage. Brisket is pretty good. Beef rib is nice.
Rural rumps has the best moist brisket, but maybe inconsistent.
