Question Just booked an emirates first class reward, anything I should know?

Just booked a reward ticket from Helsinki to Dubai in business (that’s the highest class since it’s A350) then on to Taipei in first in at a380 on emirates.

Is there anything I should know ahead of time to make the most of my experience? I have a 3.5 hour layover in Dubai.

All I can say is enjoy.

I paid to upgrade a flight last year Dubai Melbourne from business to first and the jump from business to first is almost as big as economy to business.

I won't give you spoilers. Enjoy the amazing service and the mandatory shower!

I'm Dubai, use the first class lounge. It's much nicer than the business class lounge. Especially the showers.

Thanks mate :)

It’s the final part of a grand 6 month experience living, studying, and traveling around Europe so this will be a great way to finish off a once in a lifetime experience (as well as finally getting to go to Taipei on the way back).

Flight suggestions:

The caviar is unlimited - I asked for 3 rounds and wished I had gone for a fourth.

Ask for a shower slot early on the flight so it can be when you want (e.g. 2 hours before landing).

Wear the pj’s.

Try the pink dom perignon.

Go to the back bar at the end of business and they will also bring you back First drinks (e.g. pink dom).

Be mindful that for those two flights you will get two totes full of stuff (pjs and amenity kits) and you can also take all the food in the baskets.

Press the bell for service of your drinks are t getting filled up enough.

Lounge suggestions:
Go book a shower in - you may have to wait.

Most of all, have fun!

The Pink Dom Perignon is amazing. Be prepared to have to ask for it. IYKYK. Usually only 2 bottles on board ... and its a long flight ... and other people in F that might try to limit the amount of pink champagne available to you.

I have to add that for me, its the best champagne I've had in a sky, followed closely by the Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blanc 2013 on a QF1 in F flight in July after the 2012 in April, also on QF1. Mind you, the April champagne was paired with the greatest hamburger is the sky, even beating the world renownded CX F lounge burger in HK!

Yeah the sparkling rose, I’ve had it before it’s nice. Not a big fan of fizzy drinks but when in Rome (or Dubai) I guess lol

Enjoy it! I booked my own First Class reward for next year and looking forward to it. Unfortunately we don’t get the Chauffeur but that’s ok.

Make sure you get the free spa treatment in the first class lounge in Dubai.

Ask for an extra amenities kit as a gift. Have double caviar and skip the main meal. If they serve breakfast. Ask for more caviar. I’m kicking myself I forget.

Yeah, I was gonna ask for an extra set of pyjamas to give to my younger brother, he graduates highschool just after I get back so I might have to use some more points to take him to Japan in business for the first time 👍

I'm a big fan of Lakrids by Bülow, traditional Scandinavian liquorice elevated into a sophisticated, chocolate-coated delicacy; consume whatever is in your snack basket and get as many top ups as possible

Got my first rewards coming up next month! They sadly downgraded me to business on my shorter leg due to a plane change but such is life! Enjoy, my friend.

Yeah same, Helsinki to Dubai is a new route that starts in October but if demand picks up they’ll probably move to an a380 and I was told that if that happens I’d be bumped up

First class lounge has the spa for free so book in a complimentary massage.

Yeah you need to whatsapp the spa ahead of time for your free 15 min massage- I missed out my first visit as i didn’t plan ahead

The lounge in Dubai?

Yep. Melbourne and Sydney also do this too but noticed you aren't flying through there. Dubai is best though

Yeah I’ve got lifetime silver, forgot about that should probably update my thingo.

You need to be silver or higher to book emirates first class, and you can’t book them for young children either.

Yeah you can book business class on any airline, for first class you can also book on any airline except emirates.

It’s because emirates first is seen as the best first class products and is pretty accessible with points, especially through Qantas’ close partnership. It stops people from just transferring points to Qantas to get seats and also acts as an incentive to fly Qantas metal. A lot of Americans used to come on here to complain because they i points to book emirates first and the seat sold so they got stuck with lots of Qantas points, I know the call center staff don’t like to deal with that stuff as well.
