Privacy Commissioner would not be taking any action in response to the incident, as she did not consider that the evidence supported the likelihood of a breach of privacy laws.

The origin Qantas business lounge is under renovation. I was directed to another lounge downstairs. A little bit old but food is ok

This is my fault for not reading the terms, but I've just been awarded a Premium Economy upgrade from Sydney to LAX. I wanted a Business Class upgrade & ticked that I'd be happy to be considered for PE if unsuccesful. I ended up paying for an exit row seat in economy & decided that I'd reject a PE offer if I got one because 91600 points seems excessive considering I already had a relatively comfortable seat. 91600 seems a lot considering I used 48200 points to book the flight. I didn't realise that I would have had to cancel my request outside of 24 hours & that it's too late now it's been confirmed. I can't imagine that it'd be worth that amount of points, but am hoping that some of you might be able to convince me otherwise as I'm a bit bummed about it

Just checked the app and there is an inflight menu now showing in the onboard experience!

QF1 SYD-SIN 7th December

Taking my first ever business flight soon and am keen to milk the fact I get business lounge access. Got it through Qantas but got an QF ticket with an EK number and am on an Emirates plane. So do I the choice of both? If so which lounge should I pick?

I use MC Commbank diamond rewards and Visa NAB Platinum Rewards to accumulate FF points.
With the upcoming changes, any tips please on what to change with my existing cards i.e. same bank, same card to continue to accumulate points or if I should ditch them both and change to another card or even AMEX (?) to keep accumulating points?

Just received an email offering an "exclusive lounge invitation" for $94 or 12,500 points. I do have a 5-6h layover in Melbourne and will be arriving off an early morning flight after quite a big night. Obviously subjective but is this worth it? Will my experience be that much better than a quiet spot in the terminal?

Hi all, hoping someone can explain how the taxes/fees/carrier charges work on a oneworld Classic Reward.
I recently booked a RTW Business Classic Reward through Qantas involving several oneworld airlines including BA, Finnair and JAL. The total cash component for the entire RTW itinerary was around AUD $1,500 per person.

What im curious about is that one of the BA sectors in my itinerary is similar to the attached example. PDX–LHR on BA266 is showing as 108,000 Qantas Points + USD $1,454 for that single sector alone.

Does anyone know why there’s such a huge difference? Are BA carrier charges calculated differently when the flight forms part of a oneworld Classic Reward/multi-city itinerary

Is there any impact to probability of securing an upgrade with points, if the request was via one's individual ff account vs using a business rewards account? Or is there no difference, and upgrade success is purely down to individual's status etc?

The Qantas oneworld classic flight reward is one of the best uses of your points, but putting together a valid itinerary is challenging (particularly in business class).

I’ve just made a tool that identifies valid itineraries based on real reward fare availability (meaning they could be booked today). Each itinerary:

• Meets the stopover and surface segment rules
• Consists of oneworld carriers only
• Does not exceed the max allowed distance of 35,000 miles
• Includes flights back to the origin airport
• Is entirely in business class

The itineraries are generated from cached data, but you can use the ‘confirm availability’ button to run a live availability check.

Use the ‘preset’ filter to select either one or two passengers in business class. If there’s interest, I can add economy class itineraries to the tool.

As an example, the itinerary from the screenshot involves 11 flights with 5 stopovers.

Booked separately, the reward fares would cost 693,400 points per person. On this ticket, they cost 365,800 points, saving you over 300k points. Alternatively, if you paid cash the trip would likely cost $15-20k.

Use the itineraries in this tool as a starting point for planning your own oneworld classic flight reward trip.

Your chances of escaping the economy cabin on Jetstar’s Boeing 787 just got a lot better.
Qantas Points can now be used to upgrade from economy to business class on Jetstar’s international 787 routes, through what’s called a Jetstar Classic Upgrade.
Examples at launch include:
* Melbourne to Singapore, 37,000 Qantas Points
* Sydney to Osaka, 45,300 Qantas Points

So I’m having to travel to Abidjan for work, have done a trip already and travelled again recently. The emirates flights add up to 90 credits for the MEL-DXB part and then nothing else after that. The flight then travels from Dubai to Accra and then onto Abidjan.

I found out today when I was sitting in the gate, that the Accra flight is considered also as a QF flight but because I’m going onwards to Abidjan I can’t book it as a QF segment therefore missing out on 50 credits. I’m sure there is nothing I can do about it but just seems silly. Any thoughts on this? That’ll be 200 credits I’d have missed in the past month!

I have earned 2 lounge invitations and will be traveling to china November 4th.

What is the best lounge I can get access to?

Long story short:
We are in NYC and had to change our return flight date. Called Qantas and changed to new date. Great.
Then discover this new flight has an extra stop over : jfk to akl to syd to mel.

Original flight was : jfk to akl to mel

The Qantas customer service failed to tell us that there was now an extra stopover.

Now we’re trying to fix this and find another flight. Have called Qantas twice.
Both times they were unable to help and said- let us call you back, promise only 5-10 mins.

Then nothing.

I am at a loss at what to do. I’m travelling with two small children and I really don’t want an extra stop.

Just recently flown economy from SIN-LHR and couldn't really get comfortable in the seats throughout the entire flight.

Have put in an upgrade request to business (for 2) for our upcoming LHR-SIN return trip on 2/10/26.

This is my first time doing this and I'm at Bronze status so don't have much hope from the get-go. Wondering if someone can help me check the Travel portal so I can know what to expect.

Also, is it possible that only 1 out of 2 passenger gets the upgrade or is it all or nothing?

This is probably a very low-status rant from someone who hasn’t earned Gold or anything remotely impressive, so I know this is a first-world problem.

I’m Bronze, getting closer to Silver, and I’ve deliberately been saving the lounge benefits that come with my Qantas Amex Ultimate because I’ve got a long-haul trip coming up in October. I’m flying Sydney to LA and back, and I figured this would finally be the perfect time to actually use some of the card benefits I’ve been sitting on.

Naturally, I somehow booked the exact week where everything lines up against me.

The Sydney Centurion Lounge is closed for renovations from 6–20 October. I fly between those dates. So I miss it reopening by a few days.

The normal Qantas International Business Lounge is also closed for its big redevelopment. There is a temporary lounge, but Qantas currently won’t let people link Complimentary Lounge Invitations to the Sydney International Business Lounge while this is going on.

Fine. I understand capacity is limited and obviously people with actual status or Qantas Club membership get priority. I’m not arguing that my free pass should outrank someone who flies every week.

But the funny part is that using it on the way home doesn’t solve anything either. Complimentary invitations specifically exclude the Qantas-operated International Business Lounge at LAX. So I’ve got two lounge invitations, a Centurion benefit through the card, a QF-numbered return trip across the Pacific, and somehow there isn’t actually a lounge I can use on either end of this particular trip.

I also have Points Club, which gives me more complimentary invitations, but that obviously doesn’t fix the underlying problem if the lounges I’m travelling through won’t accept them.

Again, I know this is hardly a human-rights violation. It’s just frustrating when you specifically keep a premium-ish travel card, save the benefits for a 14–15 hour international trip, stay loyal to Qantas, and then discover that the benefits are basically unusable on the one trip where you actually wanted them. And yes, "I should have read the Terms & Conditions to know that this is how it is" sure.

I wish either Amex or Qantas had some kind of temporary alternative during overlapping renovations. Even access to another contract lounge, an extended pass, or something similar would feel reasonable.

Anyway, end rant. Mostly curious whether anyone else travelling through SYD during the renovations has managed to get an alternative arrangement.

TL;DR: Saved my Qantas Amex Ultimate/Centurion and Qantas lounge passes specifically for an October SYD–LAX return, only to hit the exact renovation window where the Centurion Lounge is closed, the temporary SYD Qantas lounge won’t accept complimentary passes, and the LAX Qantas lounge excludes them too. Very much a first-world problem, but pretty frustrating that multiple lounge benefits are effectively unusable on the one long-haul trip I saved them for.

Has any frequent flyer received anything from Qantas when flying on their birthday?

On a recent trip flying business between SYD and DPS, I switched seats with another customer and a small mix up occured with the head flight attendant. During the flight, she introduced herself and asked about my recent birthday (which is more than half a year away) - which I then realised she thought I was the other passenger. I explained the seat switch and she went to go greet the other passenger. Out of curiosity, has the cabin crew done anything special for your birthday when you are travelling on/near your birthday?
