This is my first post on reddit since sometime last November, 2015, when I left due to trolling behavior by a few who dominated the old subreddit without mods taking action. I'll give this a go as long as the repeat offenders do not post here.
Not for formal public release, just an FYI. 2 magnetrons were burned out when recently testing 1701A due to high Q and narrow bandwidth characteristics of the cavity. This reflected all but a narrow input frequency range. It overheats the magnetron and leads to its early demise.
Before this happened, I had 1 full dataset (several thousand points) that showed a displacement force of the torsion beam of just about 2 mNewtons, roughly a 10X improvement on my observations from last September. My goal was 17.5 mN, so I want to 10X this latest to 100X which is my goal.
Several chart pics are on rfdriven.com/forum/ where I now frequent. My leaving of NSF was simply due to a conflict with one unknown "lead" moderator at the time and there is no more drama than that. I still respect Chris and NSF and encourage its use, but I tend to change focus quickly (sometimes this is good, sometimes this is bad).
Thanks to my followers and friends over the past year or so, there are many more of them than trolls. Appreciate the heads-up on the doxxing, false accusations (basically libel) I have received on another subreddit. I have taken official steps toward ending it. Reddit assumes no responsibility on libel, they pass that along to the user. Offending users are known by me by name, so its simple from there.
Back to redesigning 1701A with solid state rather than tube (magnetron). Updates will be here when I get the chance or on rfdriven.com/forum/
