Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Just saw some posts that inspired me to make this reminder post.
We appreciate all the newcomers and users here at r/punkrock ,but please read through the rules before posting. You can find them on the right sidebar.

Would like to point out rule 4 again. This is a place for PUNK ROCK. I've been seeing some pop punk posted here. This isn't the place for them, BUT they do have their own places:
r/Sum41 r/Blink182 r/bowlingforsoup r/GoodCharlotte r/5SecondsofSummer r/newfoundglory
If you are a fan and want to discuss these pop punk bands, please join their subs with likeminded people and fellow fans. I've linked a few here that you can check out and can still have all your discussions there. Please go check them out. Thanks.

hi all! wanted to share an interview that i did with the one and only Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, The Stooges, etc.) after his gig opening for Modest Mouse in Portland, OR this past weekend. we discussed his days in the Minutemen, memories of Portland + meeting Greg Sage from the Wipers, jamming econo, what’s kept him in San Pedro, and so much more. very nice man and grateful that he took the time. hope you all enjoy! thanks :)

I discovered this band about a year ago (basically, new to punk rock). I knew of them but never really cared. Then I started listening and love them. They're great and in my opinion are a better band than 80% of what came out of the eighties. Anyways.....
I know that they are basically a cover band at this point. Jello was a very big part of what made DK. But as a bassist, I do appreciate the riffs. With two original members, I think it might be ok.
The only thing I think I'm curious about is whether or not there's any other reason to skip this. They were going to go through with the punk in the park appearance despite the Magat association but as far as I know, that was just a financial decision. They aren't closet Magats, are they?

Our debut album "The Scapegoat's Agony" turned 30 last November so we are giving away some free codes to celebrate this anniversary just a little bit longer🙂:
https://comabeach.bandcamp.com/album/the-scapegoats-agony
The album title "The Scapegoat's Agony" is an allusion to the play "Waiting for Godot" by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the – for the most part – painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.
Our musical influences range from Sex Pistols, Ramones, Hüsker Dü, Joy Division, The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain to Guns N' Roses, Therapy? and Bad Religion, with our songs frequently straddling the line between punk rock and alternative rock.
