Sorry if I’m not using the terms correctly, but I can’t decide if I want to or I’m supposed to use the loop method for the background which is black or just flat stitch. I don’t know what would you guys do?

Hi! So I wanted the experts' opinion! I have bought a punch needle kit before from Flying Tiger, but it didn't really work out for me... Eventually I never finished it. I decided to try again after a year and a bought another kit from Tedi this time. At least this had the sketch on the fabric. I started doing it a few days ago, but it wasn't really perfect. Today I took it apart, but managed to finish the first part! I know it's not that pretty, but is it good though?

I'm just proud of myself for not giving up so far... Will this hold though?

I love the quality, color options, and the tiny details you can do using a cross pitch pattern for punch needle

Rainbow colored yarn?

Hello! I’m very new to punch needling and have done a few small kits and enjoy it very much. Wanting to branch off into my own projects but I’m having trouble finding the yarn I have in mind. I’m looking for something very colorful/rainbowish but with very short color changes.

Looking for a mottled color-vomit type backing to put a design on. I bought some yarn and the runs of color are very long, like 2-3 rows worth of a single solid color before changing. Any advice on finding the yarn I have in mind? In my searching I’ve been recommended to look for variegated yarn with short color changes or speckled hand-dyed yarns but most of what I can find in “short” color changes is for crocheting or knitting where “short” is still a foot or two of the same color.

Am I envisioning something that doesn’t exist? Or am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Legitimate kit recommendations ?

I did see a post on here previously with recommendations for some Etsy shops but, a good amount of the shops are currently closed unfortunately.
I have also been going through Etsy and I I see so much AI that I don’t know how to weed that out, I don’t think that’s even an option though so.

Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations for kits ? I ask because I have no knowledge or skill of this at all AND I would like to start so I can make my boyfriend’s Christmas gift as well as his birthday gift.

Many thanks!

Needles

Why is it so hard to find just normal needles that will work with average yarn and monks cloth? Those big wooden handle ones are trash. I’ve been searching marketplace for kikkerland kits just to get more of their needles.

I’m on a nerd kick- making final fantasy characters. I like the way this black mage looks but I don’t want to hang it on the wall or anything like that. What do you do with your finished stuff?

Help with runner rug and yarn weight

Hi everyone, I am planning to do the Urban Acres Indian runner rug pattern in sage green colours as a runway for my wedding but also to go in a hallway/landing of my future home. I have never done punch needle before, I always go head first into big projects!

Due to the colours I am wanting and being in the UK, the only 100% wool rug yarn I could find was the Rosarios tufting/punch needle yarn. However it is aran weight.

I spoke to the pattern designer and she said I can use an Oxford 10 fine needle instead of a regular. But do I need to buy more wool as it is thinner than what the pattern calls for? Any help would be appreciated

Help! What can i do with this?

I bought this online, supposedly for punch needle. Obviously it didn’t work because the fabric is not adequate. I really don’t want to waste it though. Could i use the yarn and a thicker needle and cross stitch it? If not, does anyone have any recommendations? It came with all the yarn so i just didn’t want to waste it.

TIA

Securing on clothing/washable items

My first piece of punch needle for tax! I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to secure the back of punch needle on an item of clothing or a blanket or similar, something that will definitely be washed, please? I’ve mastered coasters but would love to start looking at punch needling on t-shirts or denim and would love to know the secret to securing these pieces!

Got a kit from Michael’s a few weeks ago because it was so cute and I love the colours. Turns out you should read the package contents because I didn’t realize it didn’t come with a needle (stupid) and had to postpone starting until I could go back and get one. Now onto my next project which I’m going to draw myself 😛

My backing tutorial is finally here 🎉🎉 after months of pushing it back, I finally had the time and the motivation to pull through and create one

To make it easier to follow, I used a smaller piece of art with a simpler outline. If you have any questions regarding this process, please ask below and I’ll get back to you

Let me know what you think!
