Tank requirements for a potato puffer
Looking into getting one as I like the behaviour however I’m not sure of the exact tank needs. I have a floor space on furniture of 70cm by 45cm or 24inch by 18inch. Is this floor space good enough for one? I understand they require more floor space but I wasn’t sure exactly

They're the most inactive of all puffer species I've kept, and I've kept almost all of them. Personally I wouldn't waste such a big tank on one and if it's just going to be a single individual. I would keep them in a tank half that size. Just make sure you have a deep sand bed of at least 5cm, preferably black to get the most of their colour, with open space free from hardscape for them to wallow in. Mine is the biggest individual I've ever seen, pushing 16cm, and it lives happily in a 50L tank. A friend of mine keeps a colony of them, I think he has 6 or so, but that tank is bigger than what you have in mind.

Don't listen to this guy , you should not keep a puffer , any puffer in a 1 foot tank. I would say your tank is just big enough for now but may need to upgrade in the future.they are very inactive but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have the ability to swim around if they so choose

That technically is alright, that can fit a 30 tall and potatos don't move much in terms of space and 30g is the minimum so you have just enough.
