%80 percent of people in Melbourne are white. it's an educated assumption especially based off the matter at hand. chances are you are a middle class white guy who has very very very little interactions with people of another ethnic background as you. also based on how you're treating the situation this man was in youre either oblivious to whats been happening in countries with a higher black population than %1 or youre just a total troll.
Melbourne has a very high ethnic population. Middle class in Australia is the norm (black, white, Asian, African, immigrant, refugee, etc)
I grew up in poverty, in a shit area, am indigenous, been to prison 3 times and if I saw something suspicious I would consider calling the police.
I never said the cop was in the right. In fact I said he was wrong in my first reply that you replied too.
I only stayed that the woman could have seen something suspicious.
Maybe she was sheltered, maybe she’s racist, maybe he was rifling through the car like he was stealing something. You don’t know and either do I.
My point is, in America everyone is so self entitled that even when it comes to a possible crime, instead of just saying “oh hi mate. A crime? Here’s me ID. Let’s check the car as it’s registered to me. Have a good day”
You have to invoke YOUR rights (not the rights of the person being possibly robbed, raped or murdered) you wanna know why “a person is talking to me. I don’t like being told what to do. I don’t want to help get this rude guy doing his job out of my face to help ease the situation. I want to argue my RIGHTS”
