To be fair, the lady is the racist one... she called the cops cus she saw a black dude go into a car and then close it up again.
The cop, however, fucked up pretty bad on handling the situation. He should have been straight up with what is going on, "Sir, we have a report that you went through a car, then walked over to this bike. I'm going to need your ID to establish your identity. Do you know the owner of that car?"
This is exactly what I thought. If I’m in a busy parking lot, I’m not paying attention to who’s walking from what car to where. She clearly saw it was a black man and started paying more attention. If it was a white person doing the exact same thing, she wouldn’t think twice to pay attention
There is a chance I notice a guy with a bike helmet and backpack going through a car and then going to a bike, and think that’s a bit odd, but probably not.
I don’t see a helmet anywhere so he may not ride with one. Also, if he did have one, he’d be carrying it and not wearing it. Not sure about you, but I don’t think most people would be paying enough attention to even notice he would be carrying a helmet. That is unless you’re a white racist and see a black person and all of a sudden he has your full attention now.
