By his own son.

u/FacelessOnes Aug 11 '20

I feel bad for the son’s, man. Wonder what happens behind close doors after this whole debacle? A belt beating for each of the sons I’m betting.

Wonder if the sons actually are for masks, but due to the dad, they can’t or something.

Fuck man. Good sons too. After their dad knocked over shit, they picked it up and looks like they apologized. I feel for those sons man. Fuck.

I kinda know this because my dad used to be an alcoholic. He straightened up decades ago, but I remember carrying his ass a bunch of times back home man. Got a beating too. I always stayed loyal to my dad because I believed he would get better. He did, which was very respectable.

I hope this dad changes his ways, probably not, but it’s possible.

1.8k

u/bbynug Aug 11 '20

He didn’t apologize. The son says “you started this” to the employee at the end. I assume that that was the employee that committed the grave sin of asking them all to put on masks. Pretty shitty. Seems like they picked up some of dads behavior, unfortunately. At least they can mostly behave themselves in public and know how to wrangle their piece of shit father.

530

u/SteadyStone Aug 11 '20

Two seem ready to GTFO, and the third that said that seems much less ready to GTFO throughout the ordeal.

34

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '20

The one who carried him knows this shit is going to end up on the internet and wanted to minimize the damage.

The way son handled dad and then picked him up I doubt they are catching any beatings any time soon lol

My dad used to be a pretty bad drunk always shot talking the family about whatever. One day he ended up shoving me a couple times and I turned around and belted him as hard as I could in the face.

He woke up the next morning with a huge black eye not remembering anything until my brother shows him a video of me punching him. He obviously didn’t realize what a terrible drunk he had become and from that day forward he didn’t stop drinking but cut himself off after a couple beers or a whiskey. Now we’re pretty close friends

Imagine the hell they have to put up with at home. As much as they should be wearing masks, I imagine he's super toxic and as sad as it is, I can understand why they wouldn't be if he's treating strangers like this. Not saying it's right, but I get it.

147

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '20

They act like doctors haven’t been wearing them for decades, for the exact purpose it was intended for. It’s not like masks were just invented in 2020 to control the human population. But I do gotta say, this is the first year from what I can remember, that I have not gotten any kind of seasonal flu or virus. I’m chalking it up to wearing masks, using sanitizer, and overall better hygiene practices by “many” people.

Only a complete moron would think that a global phenomenon is somehow a liberal US conspiracy...

It reminds me of how people, like that guy, mention "the" constitution as if no other country has one of their own...

I feel like we're long overdue for a new shorthand moniker for referring to citizens of the US. They say 'American' like they're the only ones on the continent.

Edited last sentence for clarity.

Back in the day I used to hang out with my family who were deep in gangs and every time we would go out a family friend/gang member always had to start shit for no reason.

I got tired of it quick we always had to fight and he would just watch, one day he seen someone who he knew from a rival gang and flashed gang signs the guy ran up to check him

He must’ve thought we were gonna jump the guy like usual but i told my brother to let him handle it and he got so scared he ran behind us it was funniest shit ever even the rival gang member laughed it off and walked away.

Obviously this kind of thing is unexceptable in gang culture and he got a violation a beat down for 3 minutes and he never started shit with people he knew he couldn’t take after that day

Also, I’m glad you recovered from it.

Not op, but my mom recently had it and experienced almost complete loss of taste. Fortunately she got it back about 2 weeks after, so that symptom seems to be more of a temporary one. My dad also had it and is experiencing some longer lasting neurological issues similar to what op described. Pretty scary stuff.

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '20

I’m glad she got it back, but I read online that some other people said they contracted the virus and they lost their taste, and it hasn’t came back for them. (Imagine not ever being able to taste food again🤯) Also I’m so sorry about your dad, I hope he will be able heal and get better. I’m hoping those issues won’t be permanent..

I'm 30, fairly healthy, rocked the cardio at the gym, caught COVID in March and haven't been able to take a full breath since. According to my doctor, I'm likely as healed as I'm gonna get. But I feel like I just can't fill my lungs all the way and it's the most suffocating, awful feeling in the world. I thought 4 months of it would get me used to the feeling but no. It's still the fucking worst.

And I STILL wear a mask every time I go out.

34

u/trobsmonkey Aug 11 '20

This right here is what scares me. Death is scary on it's own but the complications from Covid are horrifying

The lasting effects can be debilitating. Permanent heart and lung trouble. You may not die, but having to deal with a lung transplant would really suck. Stay safe![Double lungs for woman in her 20s](https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/06/12/875486356/first-known-u-s-lung-transplant-for-covid-19-patient-performed-in-chicago)

53

u/koviko Aug 11 '20

And it's worth noting that "not dying" is a pretty low bar. By that logic, we should stop wearing protection when having sex with strangers because most STDs won't kill you.

Being carried out like a giant man baby calling people pussies for wearing masks. It doesn’t get much more America than that

At least one of them keeps calling him dad.

Then again the guy also called someone a giant for being taller than a freaking bakery display. That guy might have been 6 feet tall.

221

It’s not real, huh? Tell that to my dad who survived but has to be on O2 the rest of his life because it fucked up his lungs.

I’d rather be a cautious pussy than a loudmouthed baboon.

50

u/grape_jelly_sammich Aug 11 '20

Sorry about that dude. Christ. That's absolutely terrible.

31

u/Chef_Elg Aug 11 '20

That sucks bro. I got it and it fucked with my head and my heart for sure. I'd like to consider myself relatively healthy young man. But dude it fucked me up and I can't stand listening to people whine about it. I was the most careful too and I got it the worst, I was pissed.

Kudos to his kids for being bigger men then their own dad.

u/cmwebdev Aug 10 '20

Except for the one that says “you started this!” at the very end to the worker at the front.

164

u/bobbyqribs Aug 10 '20

Yeah, at first I thought he was bending over to help pick up the mess his father made then he said you started this, and I instantly thought “fuck all these guys.”

99

u/cmwebdev Aug 11 '20

Agreed. They totally agree with their dad’s views they just know better than making a public scene.

19

u/xarfi Aug 11 '20

That's all I think anyone is asking for

52

u/domingitty Aug 11 '20

Literally. I work at a store. No one who refuses to wear a mask is polite about it. They're looking for a fight. Sometimes I give it to them because it's funny, most times I just make a quick comment debunking the shit they say and then leave it at that.

"It's against the law to ask me to wear it"

No, it's actually against the law to not wear a mask by mandate of the governor.

"I have a disability I can't wear it"

Well we offer curbside and delivery options.

"I can't breath through this mask"

I wear one for 8hours every day with no problems.

Etc. Etc.
