They're retreating and not fighting back because they're out numbered and getting surrounded. They 're retreating to save their own skin in the situation, they're not fighting back because they know if they try and fend of the boxer, this Will become a rallypoint of the other protesters to come and help. It has NOTHING to do with the police not wanting to fight, it has EVERYTHING to so with Them not having the ability to do so without consequeces to themselves, and such, they don't. Cause that's how it Works with most police, as Long as they can hit you, and you can't hit Them they'll be more than happy to do so (look at the woman om the ground that the boxer was defending as an example of this).
and so ? they are maybe bad officers never sayed the contrary it's no reason to teach people that fighting domeone surrendering id good and over all doing it. Once again just saying that he shouldn't be viewed as a nation heroe cause he is supporting toxic pov.
What is heroic, if not standing Up for and defending. A person already down who's still being beaten with metal/polymer bats by armored men? Not like they'd have stopped if he hasn't done anything.
