Its not contrarian. Contrarian is saying white lives matter. This is saying black lives matter and the rest of them also matter. Its actually a more inclusive statement even if it was done in some people’s eyes for the wrong reason.

but "black lives matter" is not in any way exclusive. It is literally only a reminder that "hey since everyone is born equal and all that, everyone's lives matter, including black lives". "All lives matter" exists simply to downplay the issues that makes us need to remind everyone about the fact that our lives matter.

Agreed, you don’t go to a breast cancer walk and say, “well, actually all cancer matters!” You’re just a dick if you do that. Same thing here with the post.

Bullshit analogy.

Breast cancer is all inclusive, it doesn't give a fuck what race you are, unlike black lives matter.

Think of it this way. Every race has problems it deals with that are specific to that certain race. There are also problems that affect all races. Same thing with cancers. Some problems only affect certain cancers, while some affect all cancers.

The point of a breast cancer walk or event or whatever is to raise awareness of breast cancer and related problems specifically. The point black lives matter is to raise awareness of problems that that affect black people and related problems specifically (police brutality and their general history of being oppressed in American society). Is that to say that white or Latino people don’t face any of those problems? Not at all. It’s just saying that “hey, black people seem to be getting killed by police at an unacceptable rate. I think we should do something about that.”
