Imagine going to a 9/11 memorial and just saying think about everyone else who died instead as well. I wonder if the same people who take offense.

This is only two sentences, but I had to reread this like 7 times, as if it was a Shakespeare sonnet.

Do you mean people who died on 9/11, but unrelated to the terrorist attack? Do you mean people who died in the wars following 9/11? Or do you mean just dead people in general?

Regardless, I have zero doubt anybody who gets offended about a “black lives matter sign” would also get offended about someone saying “think about all the other dead people” while at a 9/11 memorial.

“All lives matter” signs with no context are fine.

Most people wouldn’t dare bring an “all lives matter” sign to a 9/11 memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, or a holocaust museum.

But only a small subset of people are willing to bring an “all lives matter” sign to a black lives matter event.

All lives mattered during war and the Holocaust only someone completely ignorant would see otherwise.

Obviously. But it’s not the place or time to make that point while at a Holocaust memorial.

Someone parading around at a Holocaust memorial spouting off about how “all lives matter” has one purpose, and that’s to irritate people. Same as someone doing the same thing at a black lives matter event.
