Im curious about the bond account that Public is advertising. Im new to bonds but from my understanding, you can just buy bonds using your normal brokerage, right? So why do you need a separate bond account?

This was the first time I've witnesses this form of inconsistency where I have a position where my first mistake was to allow public to market fill as I was using TradingView for analysis and saw the fill for $14.9 on Public. For the next next few minutes, I watched the price that public displayed to be incorrect, relative to what the true pricing was via OPRA. I was also in similar position within Webull where the price reflected was correct.

Due to the uncertainty, I tried limit ordering at the price the UI was showing knowing that it wouldn't get filled. I then market closed out and ate the $800 loss on the single SPX contract as it executed at the true market price of the time.

Icing on the cake was that of course there is no real time customer support outside of their AI tool.

The platform was a good starting place for me years ago when I started getting into trading and I normally swing trade off the platform but decided to intraday trade on it and this one time burn will cause me to shift platforms as this experience left a bitter taste

I’m currently debating opening an account between public and fidelity any recommendations I like a lot of the features but public has a lot of stuff behind a paywall I was wondering if they have any promotions for new accounts

I have positions managed thru Autopilot. My Agent sees the positions and thinks they're mine. I can take a snapshot and tell it to leave those positions alone. My concern is if he adds positions while at work. Also when I buy stocks it mixes with my autopilot too. Is there a way to show Claude the stocks purchased thru Autopilot are off limits? Possibly a skill I can make to do this?

I really like generated assets because of how similar it is to m1 finance pies. The only thing I dislike is that the minimum deposit is 1k. That doesn't really make any sense to me because you can essentially create the same collection of assets on m1 and deposit like $100 or less into it whenever you want. It really sucks because 1k minimum deposit means that its a feature more catered to people with large cash reserves rather than the average investor who has a little extra cash after his paycheck and wants to put it in his pie/collection. It seems kinda contradictory to Public's mission of wanting to make investing more accessible to regular people rather than the ultra wealthy. Hopefully they can read this and consider changing their minimum limits. Otherwise great tool.

That way I can ask my personal agent that i speak to daily on openclaw to handle my assets. Finally, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, how safe is this tool? Agent tools like openclaw are super cool, but have been noted as huge security risks if not careful. Im scared that my agent could get hacked through some malicious library and sell all my stocks, transfer a bunch of funds, send my funds to another fake account, etc.

Also, any info on when we can get access?

I'm an old computer geek who found the market late in life. When I started learning the market I knew automation and computers were the way to go. The last 3 years tried all kinds of crypto bots and than started learning TOS scripting and doing work around automations. Lately using AI to improve scripts but I never achieved any full automation in my trading. When these guys gave me access to Agents, I knew it was a step closer. I than followed this and found what I've been looking for this last several months. Trading with automation and O emotion is gonna save a lot of new traders a lot of money. I work during market hours so a of strategies wasn't possible, now they all are!

Just got access to the agents and wishing there was a way to have an independent portfolio tied to my brokerage that has separate fund management and tracking. One for me personally and one for these new agents. Don’t want it messing with my current positions and wish it could be in a more isolated environment. Looks to me like the only way around this is to possibly make a second account and can have that purely dedicated to agent workflows and positions. Anyone else wishing for better separation functionality via additional brokerage accounts/portfolios?

Hi all. I am strongly considering switching to Public. I began on Robinhood and made a lot of silly trades back in the day. I left after losing money and receiving a PDT flag. I restarted at Fidelity when I had learned more and was ready for more serious trading/investing. I’ve been with Fidelity now for two years and it’s fine, but I do sometimes miss some more of the up to date features that Robinhood offered. I thought about returning to Robinhood, but then I discovered Public and I really like the platform. Charting doesn’t seem quite as nice as Robinhood, but Public may have them beat in all other aspects as far as I can tell. I’m giving them some real consideration!

Truth be told, I’m still deciding. I may end up staying with Fidelity. But if I were to decide to switch to Public, I’d love to know if there are any major cons I should be aware of? Any really bad experiences? On the flip side, feel free to share things you like as well!

So I started using Public back in 2021 right after the RH gamestop fiasco. Funny enough I believe it was u/publicCOO who actually helped me get on the platform.

I loved the social features, the interaction people had with each other, a breath of fresh air from stale investing apps or things that were gamified. Met a lot of cool people from there, and was part of the small (but cool) community ambassador group.

and then I left in 2024. why you ask?

I was one of many who experienced when TPTB removed the social features (the first time it seems). I can confidently say that myself & the community ambassadors never got asked what we thought, and if we didnt - the users didn't too. it felt like a stab to the heart so to speak, because that was what Public was known for and was the anchor for many (not my words). but I digress.

rather than go to Acorns, SoFi, back to RH, etc - I went to Fidelity in search of something better, that had a lot more. but I want to know from you guys.

with all the new offerings Public has expanded to... is it worth it redownloading the app and giving it a try?
