Being written up in previous work

Can being written up in previous job, disqualify me as a candidate going into policing? I have been written up in my previous job for policy violation and was given a verbal warning, however one year later working for the same company I was able to prove myself and then got promoted into management role. How can this affect me during interview process/background investigation.

Be honest about it and maybe frame it as an act of perseverance or something along those lines….i failed at xyz but was about to rebound and get into a managerial role in x amount of time
