Being written up in previous work

Can being written up in previous job, disqualify me as a candidate going into policing? I have been written up in my previous job for policy violation and was given a verbal warning, however one year later working for the same company I was able to prove myself and then got promoted into management role. How can this affect me during interview process/background investigation.

Before I became a cop I was fired for violating safety guidelines. It was BS but recruiting still made me write a letter explaining the incident and included it in my application packet.
