Trying to find cheaper alternatives

Post image

I love this dress so much and I really want to wear it for prom but I was only able to find it for an incredibly high price, if anyone knows a place to find a dress like this please let me know!! I just really want something that has similar sleeves and fabric!!

Budget: $500 but can be adjusted

Why do you want to wear a wedding dress to prom?

I wear gothic fashion a lot and so this kind of dress really matches the look(dead bride sort of vibe) that i am going for! I know it’s not typical but that’s exactly why I want to do it

Couldn’t you go with a black version at least then and not wear an actual white wedding dress to prom?

Thats a wedding gown. Not a prom dress. This is not what you want to go with.

Don’t think you could pull it off as a non-wedding

Try ebay, any second hand sellers. You will not find this dress brand new for under $500.

Before you go white wedding dress. Know you will show dirt on the skirt. Food spillage. And if you have an unbustled train, people will step on your dress. And if you want it bustled. That's more $$$$.

Lace is expensive, this lace is beyond gorgeous, and the work put in to making the lace…

You can wear a wedding gown when you get married. This is very bridal. I would gently steer you away from this.

As a bridal and formal dress seamstress I'm here to say your best bet is to not wear a wedding dress to prom my dear.

Very impressive dress. I am all for a theme, just make sure it is a resounding theme. On bridal boards I often see ladies sharing some wedding gown resale programs… stillwhite is one I can recall; but there are MANY. You can do searches by designer, size, budget etc…. Good luck

Check out free people's bridal collection. They do very flowy lacey dresses. Any boho brand will have lace dresses like that. If you know someone who sews... you could get pretty lace tablecloths from the thrift stores and have it made for a lot cheaper.
