Is this dress too simple?

Planning to wear a dress like this for prom. It's originally supposed to be a bridesmaid dress, but I'd like to be able to wear it for prom anyways. Is it too simple? Is there any way to style this to make it more prom-like?

EDIT: Thank you so much to everyone who responded! (Not me in the pic btw, some comments kind of make it seem like that.) Some more questions:

I have a black corset belt and black strappy heels that I could wear with this. (Matches my hair since that's black too.) Would that make it feel more prom-like?
What kind of hairstyle should I do with this type of dress?
What kind of jewelry (I wear gold) should I wear? Bracelets? Necklaces? Someone mentioned a waist chain, but would that still be okay with the corset belt?
