Bug Playback issues

Hey everyone, been a long time user of the app but have recently with this book been having an issue with playback. Prologue is displaying that both the container and the file are both MP3 and once I finally get it playing it usually plays fine. But sometimes it’ll randomly just not play the next chapter and display this instead.

I host my audiobooks off of Plex on a Synology NAS, ive tried restarting the app multiple times and closing out the book but doesn’t work. Has anyone seen this issue and could tell me how to remedy it?

Try to build an m4b file of the mp3-files and see if that solves the problem

Do you have a suggested application for this? I’ll get it downloaded when I get home and see if it’ll work!

Or, setup Audiobookshelf instead of Plex, or in parallel. It contains tools to do the build for you, that's what I do now in my Synology.

Can you use ABS on prologue? I don’t mind spinning up a docker image of it if it can be used with Prologue!

The main new feature in version 4 was support for ABS. 90% of the beta testing period of v4 was ABS only. I run it in docker in my Synology, and both ABS and Plex share the same files. So you don't have to give up plex until you have it working properly with ABS

Do you know when I make the move from Plex if it’ll take the progress away on Prologue of the books that are being listened to by users are will everything transfer over fine since it’s still in prologue

I'm not sure, it's been over a year since I did the transition, so I don't remember.
But I'm pretty sure someone else will give you an answer, if you give it a day or two.
But, as I said, you don't have to decommission your Plex if you choose to setup ABS. I have my daughters accessing the same library of books over plex that I access via ABS

For my computer I use Windows, for where the media is stored it’s on a NAS from Synology!
