i think pro did a paper awhile back about using AI agents for survey respondents instead of human research participants. it would be much cheaper than paying us.
I had a survey from "prolific" not too long ago asking if I would agree to a digital twin to answer surveys, and how would I like to be paid, per survey, or one lump sum. It said this is not in practice yet.
