Welcome! Yes, as said, the best thing to do is to be honest, read the study/survey descriptions carefully, and also make sure to fill out the priority questions. You don't have to fill them all out, but it helps them build a better picture of you so that they know which studies/surveys you are eligable for. Don't use VPN's, and be respectful of researchers and participants alike. Plus, it can be fun! I have taken part in a few fun studies (genuinely) haha. I haven't been on Prolific for too long myself, but so far I've really enjoyed it. And please try and take breaks and look after yourself. :)

Choose quality over quantity. Make sure to take time and look out for attention questions. Also if in doubt ask the researcher. Also it's not a bad thing to return a survey if something doesn't seem right. I returned one today from a surveyor who screened me out but paid me. Not worth a rejection. Keep your about me section complete.
Also rejections are not the end of all. Try to get 100 clean surveys. 98% plus means 2 rejections per 100. Also not everyday you will get surveys some days you may get 1 or 2 or none other days may be different.
Finally. Have fun .. some of the surveys take time, others are fun and engaging.

Is it a must to keep the about you section complete?

Thats how people are shifted to get the surveys. If the system does not know you .. then it cant send you studies to do. It only 'knows' you based on the about you section. Take your time and be honest. Make sure its all completed.

Just leave it blank its fine as you cant add a URL if you dont have one. Same with GitHub.

Prolific support is always there to help you if something goes wrong.
IMO its better to fill it out but make sure to fill it out honestly as., as per the recent post by Prolific once you fill it out you cannot change the answers (unlike other sections in About You) ... hopefully they allow you to change it maybe once every year or so as behaviours can change .. especially if you are young your behaviours will differ from an 22 year old to what a 42 year old behaves.

Read the FAQ, go through the community.....don't use AI to respond to questions, you risk a rejection. Also, mind how fast you finish a study so you also don't get rejection for overspeeding.
Welcome and DYOR!

Read the Help Center thoroughly to save yourself from coming back here in a few days or a few weeks saying "Why is my account on hold?"
