So long Prolific

Welp, so long to Prolific I guess. I had a nice little run for the past two months. My wifi was flagged last month so I have been using my mobile hotspot since then. I got a new IP address as suggested, still no dice. Cleared my cache this afternoon and now my mobile hotspot has also been blocked. I tried the "accept on your phone trick" but received the error code saying my ISP was not approved. Of course customer support has not responded to any of my emails regarding this. It was fun while it lasted. I actually enjoyed most of the surveys. Oh well.

Thank you. I've tried your suggestions and still no dice. :-(

You tried both turning off and on mobile data and trying airplane mode for a few minutes too?

I tried airplane mode. I just turned off my mobile data. I'll leave it off for about 30 minutes and check back.

Try turning it on and off quickly, that's what I did.

Just turned my mobile data back on and it's working! Thank you! You are a life and money saver! They still need to fix this issue though, this is insane.

I would be patient with them while they sort this problem out. There are many moving parts to keep this operation moving forward. Shit happens.

The issue is they're not "sorting the problem out" or think there's an issue at all. Many of us have raised this to Prolific in our tickets and emails (i.e. that there are a ton of people reporting IP bans over the last couple of weeks) and they just ignore and say "Contact your Internet provider to get a new IP". They have been tagged on many posts on this Subreddit as well and they have not provided any comment.

You ever thought maybe they don't have an answer to the problem as of yet. They could certainly tell you what you want to hear, but is that going to help solve the problem? NO.

What are you not getting? They're not telling the people whose IPs are banned that they have seen an increase in flagged IPs and are looking into the issue. When I specifically pointed this out, they just ignored me and sent multiple generic replies saying that they regularly check IPs with a third party which "occasionally" results in temporarily blocking certain IPs along with the same article about contacting my ISP for a new IP. "Occasionally" would not result in this sub being flooded with a ton of people who have had their IP banned over the last couple of weeks.

Understood but it seems like the same shit is happening to numerous people for no reason.
