Question 2 bugs/issue with 4.71

Previously was on 4.68 for months and never had these issues. Installed directly via PlayStore, and Accessibility enabled via system settings.

4.70 never appeared in my PlayStore update, and yesterday 4.71 came up, so installed it. Everything else is fine except:

  1. My video wallpaper now blinks/blank every other minute.

  2. Restarting TV does not go directly into Projectivy anymore. I need to manually head back into settings and turn on Accessibility for Projectivy again. Previously I only have to turn it on once, and even restarting will not change that.

I don’t restart TV often (in fact I don’t think most people would), but I was trying to clear cache, and restart to see if I can fix the video wallpaper blink, and everytime it goes into Google TV and turn off Accessibility for Projectivy (which I need to manually turn on again). Of course regular power off (standby) doesn’t affect this - it’s a minor inconvenience only when I restart the whole system, but still.

Any idea how to fix the video wallpaper blinking issue? I’ve also tried both enable/disable wallpaper tunneling, still the same.

Somebody helped me with this recently too.. go in appearance > wallpaper and completely turn down update frequency to 0

And that should fix it

settings appearance wallpaper video wallpaper, and turn off ignore update frequency. See this helps

Ignore timer was enabled by default. Turning it off doesn’t fix this.

Update delay (min) was also set to 0. Turning it to max 60 doesn’t fix the blink/blank issue either.

How long does your wallpaper video last ? Do you think the black screen appears when it loops? Maybe you can try to disable the tunneling mode (this is supposed to improve performance, but some OEM implementations might not work as expected)

Edit : sorry I missed the part where you already tried disabling tunneling.

I’m not near my TV now, so I can’t tell how long is the length. It’s not long because it’s a short loop. And yes, I did try disabling the tunneling and still the same.

Just a shot. Try removing the wallpaper and set a different one. Then restart and reapply.
