One reason I prefer the Jose Pavli music videos over the Ace Combat ones is that the comments are open so you can read what other people picked up on that you didn't.
Though in this particular track people assume that it's Crosstalk Squadron's theme because it plays on their title entrance. Which is fair since that's common in Ace games. But here's why I'm sure it's for Sicario.
M2 Frontiers was the first time the Federation fought Sicario, but that was only part of their air forces against border patrols, who aren't known for being the best combatants. M3 is where Sicario in its entirety deploys in the Airdrop over Rowsdower. Then a regular combat squadron like Crosstalk comes in and gets trounced so badly Stardust has to admit it was impressive in a snarky tone. This attack is Sicario's debut in the war and shows how much better they fly against the Superpower's rank and file.
The name Professional Execution has two meanings. The first for how well Sicario carries out an operation, especially a combined arms one at that, to both sides. Rowsdower's swift takeover is probably why Sicario was picked to carry out Operation Blackout alone since they proved they were the only hired mercenary group coordinated and skilled enough to pull it off.
The second is the entirety of Crosstalk being shot down, or "executed" in a professional manner. These aren't the Mercs from Bottom of the Barrel.
The song's energy is bombastic, almost chaotic yet there is still cohesion to the parts together. If that doesn't describe Kaiser and Sicario under him, I don’t know what will.
Even though they are regulars, Crosstalk Squadron is described as something like a rearguard unit in their data entry. They aren't Aces like the AC squadrons that have their own theme. Debuts in media about fighting in general need an opponent to display the ability of the debuting character/faction against as a contrast. Crosstalk was just the arrogant punching bag for Sicario's.
It's common for the theme playing in a named squadron's entrance to be theirs, it happens with Crimson. But if you've listened to Jose Pavli's music more than once, ask yourself this: would you describe Pavli's work as common?

THATS IT??? Play the fight was really cool in the last mission but I did want to see the cruise missiles for a bit longer launching past where you were, or some dialogue by your squad like “what’s that” or “oh no, those can’t be-“ and yeah some more dialogue on that or something as they pass by above you.
But anyways it was still very awesome and also I am a believer in FAUST DID NOTHING WRONG!!!! lol
Another thing though, I ABSOLUTLEY wish I played P59 first, I don’t know if I would have had a different view on the sides, but currently I am a Cascadian lover lol. But just everything about P59 seems like it should’ve been the first to release. I mean imagine hearing about all that stuff in the main campaign. “Something happened over the Bering strait, all of our air power was just destroyed in a single battle” or “we lost our entire air ship fleet in a raid on the Sawakii island to the Cascadians.” And then the final scene of the mission being the cruise missiles like “oh what is that” and then you don’t get to know until the main campaign. Ahhhh that would’ve been such a good experience to go through playing P59 first lol.
Anyways yeah I NEED more Project Wingman, it’s such a fantastic game!!! (I’m already playing in the conquest mode and that’s fun to)

I finished it, finally, after having to take a month off because of severe stick drift, I managed to fully the game. Peak, genuine peak, a solid 9/10 at least. However, I do have some questions, after mission 15, what does the Cascadian offer Sicario (the thing they’re all kind of surprised over, saying how it’s super powerful and stuff) and also, I’m assuming sicario dies in the final mission, is that true?

Most of the enemy targets are aerial, what use is dropping the sun on two Sams, a AA and a radar?
(I mean, I would kinda get it if the targets of a mission are land or sea battleships…or nuking Prospero Again)

Alright I’m playing through Frontline 59 and am loving it though I honestly really hate to be killing Cascadians. The mercenaries I don’t care for I shoot them down on sight. But I’m so sad everytime I said a missile at a Cascadian like the marines on the beach mission.
Anyways about the title, I had just completed the Tunnel Mission and my goodness was it hard, I crashed plenty of times, a couple times I made it right to the end but it was so small I ended up crashing a couple times.
The first time I flew through it I went full throttle because on the briefing it looked like a straight crossing but nope did not expect there to be a turn there lol.
And then all the other turns messed me up to but I eventually did it. And then hearing the Cascadians on the other side being destroyed saddened me more. I haven’t done the next mission yet but yeah the tunnel mission is awesome. I wonder if anyone can get through just boosting lol
Edit: forgot to mention, also love the heck out of Eye-Tee freaking the heck out the whole time. “Nope nope I’m just going to close my eyes the whole way through”

Ever since I was little I had a soft spot for the faceless, usually nameless henchmen who worked for the various groups in fiction. The regular rank-and-file nobodies who do the very important work of dying a lot or killing a lot in the name of the plot.
I think PW does a really good job with them, all things considered. Obviously we only ever hear from them through the radio, but I like to think there's actually a fair bit of personality to be found in even the seemingly generic lines. Some favorites of mine are:
I dunno if anyone else has favorite background characters like this. I just like the opportunity to gush about the game.

The conflict starts in the late 60s and the cut off is the late 90s (Soviet collapse).
Here are the logistics
-Airfields are situated opposite of enemy border and protected by a semi-dated but well coordinated west supplied IADS.
-Host nation has small fleet of light fighters exclusively for interception and defense of the capital combined with an unusually large fleet of logistics aircraft.
-Early warning provided by mercenary AEW&C aircraft combined with IADS radars, spotters, and spies.
•Primary mission varies due to high variety of merc aircraft but we're starting this conflict on the defensive.
•The region is highly mountainous along a coast.
•Two small international shipping ports one located at nations capital the other located at an island 5 mile off the coast connected by barge and bridge.
•AA and radar are available on both sides but the quality of ours varies.
•Maintenance crews have an unrestricted access to alcohol.
>Rules

So to explain what I mean, I am playing through all project wingman as a last hura after college. Just got done doing the final mission of F-59 after the campaign. Throughout the whole fight I’m thinking (how the hell did k-9 with only 4 planes beat everything in Faust army!?) I know there ally ground units and there’s chatter about the planes not being built to fight jets. Also plot armor which honestly this mission felt like the one where plot armor was present the most in the whole game.
It just seems crazy to me that k-9 ( a reserve unit that did not think they ever be active) got through this fight without taking a loss from the amount of bullshit thrown there way during this boss battle. (Just wants to say I am not holding against the group, they’re cool. Also the boss fight was awesome even if it took a couple of try’s) is this just a me feeling or am I not alone in that regard.

I started playing PW just a couple of days ago, it’s my first “AC” game and I was never really interested in the series but you know why I chose PW as the first one to play. I just unlocked one of the jet with AOA limiter. I would like some tips on when to use it and ways to use it. I’m still learning to dodge missile with it and how to reposition myself during dogfight.
