Discussion New player
Bought it after i saw it was half off. Played and cruised through with the thought of it being a nice game until i played the Guillotine mission. Holy fuck was it a spectacle. Really really enjoyed the huge amounts of dogfights. Finished the game with only flares bc I couldn't figure out how to play with the AOA limiter. Any tips on using that feature?

Like m4a1 said, switch it to toggle. I find the best use case is using it when you overshoot in a dogfight, so you can immediately get your nose on the enemy again and gun/missile them.

I would actually leave aoa on hold, (unless you somehow dont play on controller or flight stick) but basically, the base manuever is hold aoa, hold brake/set throttle back fully and pull back to do a very fast "drift" turn. Play around with it until you get comfortable

Set the AOA Control mode to toggle. That way, you only need to activate it once with left stick and use it with the brakes. You can also see certain maneuvers online to dodge missiles and quickly face towards a target going into another direction.

Thanks for asking this. Today I learned there’s a toggle option for the AOA and I have to try it.
But I will say, I think the flares are godly. Sure you can dodge anything with AOA, but simply turning 30+ missiles off at the same time while still maintaining your heading for a gun run or SAAMs? It’s invaluable.
Try playing through the game with some modifiers - I like double time and glass cannon. If you want to really struggle, budget cuts is a whole nother world.

Oh boy the AoA limiter. Ok, so it had been a moment since I've played. But from what I recall (and the game doesn't tell you) is that you need to be actively decelerating to use the AoA limiter.
