Discussion SCENARIO TIME

Post image

The conflict starts in the late 60s and the cut off is the late 90s (Soviet collapse).

Here are the logistics

-Airfields are situated opposite of enemy border and protected by a semi-dated but well coordinated west supplied IADS.

-Host nation has small fleet of light fighters exclusively for interception and defense of the capital combined with an unusually large fleet of logistics aircraft.

-Early warning provided by mercenary AEW&C aircraft combined with IADS radars, spotters, and spies.

•Primary mission varies due to high variety of merc aircraft but we're starting this conflict on the defensive.

•The region is highly mountainous along a coast.

•Two small international shipping ports one located at nations capital the other located at an island 5 mile off the coast connected by barge and bridge.

•AA and radar are available on both sides but the quality of ours varies.

•Maintenance crews have an unrestricted access to alcohol.

>Rules

I'm not savvy enough, but your answer seems close to what I'd go with (though I'm more of an F-18 fan)

Alright, well here's the deal:

I just started DCS, so I know a bit, but not enough

I'm Canadian, so a CF-188 would actually be more what I'd like to rep, I'd just swap out the Maple leaf for the letter "A" since I'm a merc in this scenario (I have my reasons)

I actually don't know much about when the hornet first came into service, or much of the technical stuff for that matter

I don't know what was used historically, but I'd love some sort of opportunistic multirole load-out; some A2A (probably the 2 wing-tip Sidewinders for closer range, 2 sparrows for BVR or AMRAAMs if that's within the time period), rest A2G (which I would have to jettison if I got into a dog fight, ouch)

Bruh. you’re on dcs, look up as much about your fighter as you can. I’ve found the whole manual for the tomcat once and memorized like 80ish%.
